Dan Parkinson is the author of the action-packed Timecop novels, Viper's Spawn and The Scavenger; The Whispers and Faces of Infinity (in The Gates of Time series); as well as many westerns and a number of successful TSR fantasy novels.

It's a well-written, exciting, and suspenseful book.,

Parkinson writes a delightful addition to the TimeCop series in Blood Ties. The characters are believable, and the plot action-packed. There is one slight contradiction at the end of the book, which would make timecops unneeded. But overall, a great book. I'm looking forward to the next one.

It helps to read the first two books in this series, but it is not necessary. Dan Parkinson is great at writing books that link together, but can still be enjoyed individually. I hope that this series continues in a fourth book. This book (and series) is fun reading that is perfect for fans of time travel. Imagine jumping back in time on a mission, only to return to a different history- where you don't exist. Yikes!

I like Timecop. I like the movie, the aborted series, and the comics. I tried really hard to like this book too. Dan Parkinson is a competant and experienced author, who knows how to tell a tale and tell it well. The book is solid (if un-inspiring) entertainment from beginning to end, and I'm extremely happy that we got to read all three books after the TV series died such an ignoble death. Parkinson has done a great job of fleshing out the onscreen Time Enforcement Comission, adding his own characters to the mix. His take on the time travel technology is fun and thought provoking, as is his view of the clandestine world of temporal security in 2008. However, this book has a fatal flaw, in that in an entirely un-necessary section towards the end of the book, Parkinson introduces a concept that - when considered carefully - utterly invalidates the need for the timecops! The concept is also contradicted earlier in the book. That sort of sloppy logic has plagued time travel books, and I'm sorry to see it continued here. Still, if you enjoy time-travelling high adventure, pick up this book and the previous two in the series.
