5.0 out of 5 stars A roll-on-the-floor laughing read Sept. 4 2000
Format:Hardcover
Dick King-Smith is the prolific author of a host of delightful and humorous children's books. His humour is reminiscent of Roald Dahl's side splitting childrens favorites.
"The Fox Busters" is an excellent example of King-Smith's ability to entertain children as well as adults. Its wacky plot features chickens with special abilities who take revenge on foxes in a most hilarious manner, and is sure to please readers.
If you want a short, light and entertaining read, or want to get your children hooked on reading, this is the book for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Liberated Chicks Save the Day Feb. 4 2014
By Lori Lovato - Published on Amazon.com

This book is amazing; it was King-Smith's first novel and is as good a read as any of his others that I have read. Fowl language and liberated chicks set the tone for this heroic story! A must-read for anyone but especially for those who can relate to a farm setting in which talking, flying chickens are the norm.

I absolutely love this book. I have read the story five times, and I still get enjoyment from it. I bought this book for my grandchildren, but I am having a difficult time parting with it. I may have to buy another copy for myself. Mr. King-Smith has written other books, which I'm sure I will enjoy. tdg

2.0 out of 5 stars Some people may like this book - But I aint one of em'! May 6 2005
By TearsOfNightfall - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
First off, I don't even know why I read this book! I guess I was just bored out of my mind! This is probably the worst book I've ever read! I thought it was too bad that the four foxes died at the end, not because of the fact that foxes are my favorite animal, but because they were the only characters that had any dark side AT ALL, much less a personality!! Personaly, I thought that they were also the most likeable characters in the book. The "three sisters" were the oh-so-good-and-heroic-and-wonderfull showoffy chickens that starred in the book. They were mearly "blobs of niceness" and were just abnoxious and un'likable, the ring leader, Ranesome, being the worst of them all! This is the only book I've ever read that has truly ABNOXIOUS main characters! The only reason I gave this book even 2 stars is because I figure this book wasn't meant for my age group (I'm 14) and maybe some younger kids would like it. But if you're over ten (or have good taste in characters) do not read this book!
