Hilarious yet scathing and thought-provoking; few sitcoms have pushed the envelope like Titus did. Nowhere near your average goody-goody family show, Titus was an in-your-face, brilliantly-written sitcom that dealt with harsh, non sugar-coated realities such as mental illness and unsupportive, unloving parents. Plus, while sitcoms usually try their darndest to make you love their characters, Titus is filled with hateful ones, especially Stacy Keach's Papa Titus, who is as anger-inducing as they come and whose greatest pleasure is to make his son's life miserable. Thankfully, you also had characters like Tommy and Dave who brought a certain innocence to the otherwise heavy situations. Why this show got cancelled after only three seasons, I don't know. What I do know is that it's a real loss because television needs more intelligent programs like this one.

Though I cannot prove it, I'm fairly certain that this show was cancelled because it was too smart and too funny for Fox.
It was smart, well written, HILARIOUS and IMO, a 'must watch' show. It was one of those shows that you scheduled events around, because you didn't want to miss it.
Thankfully, it has found a second life on DVD, so that all those poor souls who missed it when it was on television can now correct that horrible mistake.

I loved this TV show. I never missed it when it was on. I just hope that FOX will do the same thing to Titus as they did to Family Guy and bring it back with new seasons. FOX's excuse for taking it off the air was because of it's offensive content. Well, I'm pretty sure that Family Guy is more offensive then Titus was and they brought that show back, which I love. Anyway, Buy this DVD Set. You'll not be disapointed.

great show. only canceled because it was... um, funny i guess. Fox likes doing that, Family Guy anyone?....
