Very solid, epic power metal!

DISCLAIMER: I am a huge fan of metal of all styles, but power metal is among my least favorite of the metal subgenres.
But BATTLEROAR are 100% legit! Their record label, Cruz Del Sur, is an excellent source for top quality epic/power metal bands.
BATTLEROAR hail from Greece, a country known for its fertile ground of strong epic/power metal bands, and To Death and Beyond is a shining example of this. The problem with 90% of power metal lies with the vocalist. It is not easy to find bands in this style in which the vocalist isn't either trying too hard to sound "castrato," or simply burying the music with an assortment of unnecessary melodic inflections. BATTLEROAR's vocalist has an excellent range, but he sings for the music, not to make the Rob Halford fanatics go gaga. This is the single most important X-Factor which makes BATTLEROAR "the power metal band for those who don't like power metal."
Plus, they write great, memorable, heavy songs with riff after incredible riff. Simple, tuneful, and from the heart.
If you are like me and are a fan of - but are extremely picky about - your power metal, BATTLEROAR are worth your attention. If you enjoy them, I would also highly recommend looking into STORMWARRIOR, DOOMSWORD and PARAGON.
