Honest and courageous exposure of herself!,

First of all I want to express my disagreement with everybody who said Lisa Marie can't sing, she's has an original sound. She's ranging in the low tones, and she can even go up! But I need to agree with the fact that her lyrics are hard to undersand. I would say partly because of the music itself and partly because of her accent (who, in my opinion, is just a plus for her originality!!!). When you listen to it for a while you'll catcht what see's saying. When you get to feel the spirit of this album, you'll learn the richness of Lisa Marie's talent and most of all her courage to put her feelings down for everybody to know. For that reason, I would say to all the detractors of Lisa Marie's album who say it's selling just because of her dads charismatic career: " You just didn't took the time to listen to the album without having Elvis in mind. Lisa Marie is not her dad, and most of all doesn't claim to be or use her fame to be known. She just doesn't need it!" Moreover, some say there's too much blending of musical sound in this album. As for me, it's one of its major force. You can listen to the album on and on, and always discover some new sound (musical sound and Lisa Marie's singing sound "tricks" ). In the end, I would recommend this album to every body who likes rock n' roll music accompanied by a warm, deep and groovin' voice. And please don't listen to the album thinking Lisa Marie is mad at her past life. Just see it as a brave exposure of her weeknesses and deep feelings. She's more brave than any other artist I ever know or even most of the people I know to get her life available for the world to see. Be sure to listen to her new album who should get out around march 2005!!!

I am not a fan of Elvis so I feel no need to go easy on his daughter. For all the talent he did have, hype took him the rest of the way only that media-proclaimed musical deity routine could not propel Lisa as it did her father. Not only does she lack a voice, but the overproduction of this album is an insult. You just know that because no one had the balls to tell her she could not sing, they decided they were going to drown her out. The problem is, it's not done enough so you still her the gut bucket, out-of-tone voice but just enough to make it sound like a noise fest. It took me reading the lyrics to find out what what was being said in most cases and I what I gathered is that this is a genuinely miserable person. We all have our ups & downs, but this woman seems to be stuck in a constant depression which shows me that money certainly does not buy happiness. I tried to further give her some benifit of doubt & read her interviews. Guess what? I came up with the same conclusion. Blaming her ex-husbands, airing her sexual preferences, etc. No class! What I find hilarious is that she has been waging a war against Paris Hilton, as if she is somehow better? I am glad I did not actually spend money on this disc.

One Word- REAL,

I bought Lisa's c.d. the first day it came out (April 2003), since then I have enjoyed it many times over. She isn't her father, she is Lisa. She never claims to be her father and this c.d. shows she has talent all her own. The one thing this c.d. is is REAL. Lisa didn't follow in other "pop princess" footsteps (i.e. Britney Spear, J-LO), she didn't create a c.d. full of forgetable, same-sounding, techo/disco/rap-crap like these other so-called "artists." Lisa has more "Rock n' Roll" in her little finger, than most of these other "artists" have in their whole body. Lisa stayed true to herself, her talent, and her background. She is Blues, Country, and Rock combined to form its own unique flavor. She stays true to her roots, but yet does it on her own terms and her own way. Lisa is a wonderful singer. She may not be a Celine Dion or Elvis, but she never claims to be. She is a heck of a lot better than most of these other chart-toppers. I love her gritty, moody, rockin' voice. I have every reason to believe her next album will be even better and she will show us more of her range and vocal abilities now that she has "spread her wings" with this album. If you want a c.d. that is original, edgy, and REAL... buy To Whom It May Concern. You won't be disappointed and you will become a true fan.
