TOCA's Brilliant first release, Jun 20 2007
By Franz Douskey "franz douskey" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Toca (Audio CD)
Between the sweet sounds of "Not Too Many People Like You," the jazz riffs of "Hearts of Gold,"the Reggae inspired "Nice Try," the humor and insight of "Nothing Remains The Same," and the rapid rap refrains of Daniel Rodriguez, there are brilliant lyrics and spontaneous musicianship all through TOCA's first CD. There is joy and high energy throughout. This CD is so good, it is impossible to limit it to a particular music genre. Each track is a brilliant invention and gets better with each listen.
TOCA is a remarkable assemblage of brilliant, inventive, harmonious musicians. They have made one of those rare CD's that announces the beginning of an new, important sound in American culture.

Toca : A great mix of high quality, original music, May 31 2007

Although it's often listed under the hip-hop monicker, Toca is really much more. These are true musicians ----- East Coast joins West Coast, Puerto Ricans join with Chicanos, Spanish joins English --- who create great harmonies together. It is a project that took many years to complete, but now the band members could be proud of the great work they've accomplished.
Don't just listen to one song, since no two songs are alike. Listen to it all, and be thoroughly entertained!

Toca is an LA hip hop band consisting of brothers Ceschi and David Ramos, Xololanxinxo, Tommy V, Max Heath and Danny Levin. Their genre-defying music contains elements of indie rock, underground hip hop, Latino, 80s new wave, heavy metal, jazz, reggae, and more. You can find out more about them at tocathebanddotcom.
