Todd On Acid...The Sequel,
By A Customer
This review is from: Todd (Audio CD)
Much like A Wizard/A True Star that preceeded it, Todd is a psychedelic roller coaster ride that whirls you through the manic yet genius mind of it's creator. Rarely have I encountered an album that bounces between such extremes. On the one hand you'll find some of Todd's most catchy & melodic songs ever. Beautiful tunes like I Think You Know, A Dream Goes On Forever, and The Last Ride. Then suddenly you'll be thrown into a rambling mish-mash of synthesized mania that will test the patience of even the most loyal fan. But part of the fun of being a Rundgren listener is the element of surprise. He may disappoint you sometimes but he'll rarely bore you and will always keep you guessing. One thing I really love about Todd is his guitar playing. The cat has bonefide six-string mojo baby and it's well displayed on this record. To sum up, if you're buying your first Todd record, this isn't the one. A lot of it is just too weird for the uninitiated. Stick with Something/Anything, Faithful, or Hermit Of Mink Hollow. But for those of you who already know what Todd Rundgren's quirky brand of genius is all about and want more of it, this album is a must buy.

MUCH BETTER THAN "LIARS",

This review is from: Todd (Audio CD)
"Liars" could've used some of the low-tech magic created here. This is a MASTERPIECE -- "Liars" is not.

Almost as strong as "A WIZARD,A TRUE STAR"!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Todd (Audio CD)
After the reading of the customers reviews of "A WIZARD..."I was whishing to add one of my own.TODD is number two in my personal all-time best albums list.Yet,when I discovered it (something like 25 years ago,I guess),I couldn't lesson to it from beginning to end and was used to skip traks like "Kingkong reaggae" ,"number one common...",and of course "in and out the shackras...".It took me 10 years or so to be able to appreciate it in his "integrity".It's so rich that I needed to be more mature but now I know:it's a masterpiece, and, "artisticly speaking", better than SOMETHING/ANYTHING?How on earth can such a disc be that overlooked?
