Product Description

Product Description

The National Security Agency's top-secret initiative to protect the United States from potential threats has been dubbed the Third Echelon. It deploys a lone field operative. He is sharp, nearly invisible, and deadly. And he has the right to spy, steal, destroy, and assassinate to protect American freedoms.

His name is Sam Fisher. He is a Splinter Cell Third Echlon.

Operative Fisher knows that several disastrous missions have depleted the ranks of the Splinter Cells. What he doesn't know is that a stunning piece of evidence has been uncovered that points to the mole who sold out his government...

5.0 out of 5 stars Splinter Cell Conviction & Endgame: a mission of two tales, Dec 9 2009
By Dagrumpsta - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tom Clancys Splinter Cell #6 Endgame (Mass Market Paperback)
In Splinter Cell:Conviction, Third Echelon's Grimsdottir launches Sam Fisher on his final mission.

Splinter Cell:Endgame introduces newbie Ben Hansen and his Delta Sly group as Grimsdottir, closely watched by a traitor in the NSA hierarchy, secretly directs and delivers Hansen's ragtag team to Fisher in support of his final mission.

Interestingly for us, some creative folks stepped outside the box here (author, publisher, game developer, come quickly to mind), and gave us two independent books about the same mission as carried out by different characters. The clear distinction between the two books is the actions of a loner versus the dynamics of a team with all their conflicting shenanigans. I catch the old versus new message - call it an attitudinal variation on the old glass half empty-half full metephor.

A weary Fisher contemplating the settlings in his glass. The young and energetic Hansen eager to fill his to overflowing. In the middle, Grimsdottir, a realist, who knows that, either way, somebody in Third Echelon will be there to wash it.

Endgame works for me... big time.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's the same story folks - buyer beware, Mar 8 2010
By Jack Dempsey - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tom Clancys Splinter Cell #6 Endgame (Mass Market Paperback)
I saw some of the review's weren't great when I briefly looked at purchasing it once before. I thought, "oh how can it be that bad". Well, it is. It's the same damn story, not a continuation like I and probably everyone else had expected. There are a few good moments here and there, but otherwise it's just a big letdown. I read it in two days because I could barely focus enough to do anything but skim paragraphs here and there.

2.0 out of 5 stars Book Stinks: I have the entire series..., Jan 5 2010
By K. Pyle - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tom Clancys Splinter Cell #6 Endgame (Mass Market Paperback)
This book covers a "counter point of view" from the agents chasing Sam Fisher from the previous book "Conviction". If you read conviction, don't bother to buy this - same dang story. I am very disappointed that I purchased it. I like all the other Splinter Cell series books.
