Another year, another Tony Hawk game Oct. 23 2007

Ah yes, it's that time of year again when all the various franchises are out with new releases just in time for the holiday season. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground finds the legendary skater riding again on the PS2 with what may be the system's last hurrah with the Hawk-meister, and boy does it show. The story elements that have become a staple of the series over the last few installments are here again, but it feels as if there's a lot missing compared to the higher powered versions of the game. However, it is worth noting that the game doesn't actually look half bad for a late in life PS2 game, and even looks a bit better than last year's Tony Hawk's Project 8. There's a good soundtrack as usual and the typical, tried and true Tony Hawk-style gameplay mechanics that we all know and love are here, but there's no online features to be found, which is by far the biggest disappointment of Proving Ground. All in all, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is about what you would expect from the series at this point on the PS2, which is still worth checking out if you're still hanging on to your aging console.

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground June 8 2008

Proving Ground is the next Chapter in the TH usual, graphics are better, and features are better, but basically the same game. It's still fun to play, but for my taste, I would like to see some more realistic (simulated) type of game, where the skating is more believable...not 30 ft ollies off of a kicker...4 stars!!
One of the best PS2 Tony Hawk games ever Jan. 23 2015

Took me awhile to rate this cuz i ordered it from amazon last year and never got it,so i got it from my sister (cuz she got a copy herself)and she gave it to me. I gave up on videogames at 14 and started messing with guitars. But this game is the newest in the respect it is a PS2 game. But i stopped at Tony Hawk Underground 1 and my x-gf's brother kept that. So all i have is tonyhawk 1-4 and then skip Underground 2 Project 8 & American Wasteland this is the newest closest to the current year it can get for PS2 but these graphics are great. I love the originality of the games how you get to do the styling of the tricks and the rails. Create a Skate & Free Skate are great. I love the controls, oldschool and to the original feel of controls. I don't play em but i have all my old ones every now & then i like to pop one in,burn a J and play a game for an hour if i'm bored or just want to play a skate game. Especially one i have not played and beaten before. I'm just warming up to it and i have had it for 4 months. I maybe pmayed it 11 times but at the first time i played for 3 hours it was fun. I enjoy just skating and pulling off tricks. Pick this up it is the most recent of the will get for PS2 they don't make em anymore. I refuse to buy a 3 or 4 cuz i got 1&2 with tons of games that cost thoisands and aren't worth pennies now. I hate how things work, that's why i just keep em. Maybe 1 day i'll take some liquid L and take a trip backwards.Great game. Take a shot at the Matt Hoffman BMX & Pro Wakeboaeding,Kelly Slater Pro Surf and Dave Mirra BMX stand as oldschool favorites.

Not what I call a great game, it's a game but not well developed. I remember the older Tony Hawk games and could recall they were a lot better than this. I think the development team on this just got lazy and wanted to make a game with "better" graphics for the newer systems and just threw out some upchucked garbage for the older consoles. Really bad move on their part. I'd stay away and go back to the older titles.

Ive always loved playing tony hawk games when i was a kid so i thought i would buy this one for old times sake. The shipping was fast and the product was in great condition. The one and only law with the game is the very small maps that you cant really roam around in like in the x-Box version but overall it was a great game with fast and easy shipping.
