On July 30, 2003, close to half a million people gathered in Toronto for one of the most spectacular concerts of all time. It was the largest ticketed single-day event in history. While the Rolling Stones headlined the show, Canadian music fans will enjoy the chance to see many of their favourite bands performing for one of the largest crowds in concert history. Performers include Rush, The Guess Who, Blue Rodeo, and Sam Roberts, among others.

5.0 out of 5 stars TORONTO ROCKS and history was made on 2 DVDS! July 8 2004
By r. f. TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
These 2 live DVDs have some of the best concert DVD sound that I have ever heard , ever! Filmed WIDE SCREEN! PCM & 5.1 S.Sound.

DISC 1 : These are some of CANADA'S BEST bar bands that get a chance to play 3 to 4 songs in front of a really large crowd.

SAM ROBERTS [3 songs]...opens the show and plays 3 hit songs and gives you a hint of what is to come. I didn't like him before. I do now.

THE TEA PARTY [4 songs]...were just UNBELIEVABLE!

BLUE RODEO and MS. EDWARDS...added a short but sweet country/ rock sets [3 songs] each.

MS. EDWARD's song..." I WANT TO GET HIGH " , was a first disc hight light.

BLUE RODEO...reminded us of where we were.
" ....by Lake ONTARIO ...."

But it was a set with...SASS JORDAN with the late...JEFF HEALEY [4 songs]...that steals the show on the 1st DVD live disc.

Their 4 song set of ROCK at it's finest with a FANTASTIC guitar solo by... JEFF HEALEY during the song..." Make You a Believer "...SASS AND JEFF...made me a believer!

DISC 1 extras: The crowd and the press tent.

Interviews with , THE GUESS WHO and RUSH

DISC 2 : Has...THE FLAMING LIPS [3 songs]...THE ISLEY BROTHERS [2 songs]...JUSTIN [1 song]...THE GUESS WHO [3 long songs]...RUSH [3 long songs]...AC/DC [2 long songs]...and of course...The ROLLING STONES [7 songs].

You can't go wrong with that line up! ALL were mostly at the top of their game.

My only complaint is that there are only 2...AC/DC...songs...The Stones...may have had something to do with that?

If you want to see , " even better than being there " , live DVDs? A large ROCK SHOW that made concert attendance history , a STELLAR LINE UP.

Why SOME people say...AC/DC...blew...The STONES...off the stage , [you will get an idea] and give money to charity , these are the 2 live DVDs for you!

The fans , the bands did TORONTO and CANADA proud and you can ENJOY a piece of WORLD ROCK MUSIC HISTORY that happened in CANADA.

These 2 live DVDs comes with a great colour booklet with pictures of the artists and crowd.

Disc 2 extras : Director's chair for an...AC/DC...song and.. The STONES...back stage , ect...AWESOME looking and sounding 2 live DVDs!

4.0 out of 5 stars Toronto Rocks Aug 16 2008
Format:DVD
This is a GREAT DVD for all music fans from all countries!

All the Canadian bands put on good performances ... BUT, check-out a band from Quebec called LA CHICANE ... this is a very strong band, strong vocals, good guitar, percussion and keyboards but the SAX player is TOTALLY AWESOME on Le Yab De St Nitouche! If you like good music, you'll love this guy!

He's ungodly talented ... a real musician and showman who loves to perform ... he is at the same level professionally as Canada's great rock guitarists, Bachman, Lifeson and Healey.

This DVD is well worth the money.

And, AC-DC, Sass Jordan (Jeff Healey's performance is way TOO SHORT), RUSH, Tea Party, Blue Rodeo and especially The Guess Who (American Woman is GREAT) all put on excellent performances.

The Stones SUCK big time ... just a bunch of dopers who have lost any talent they may have once had.

5.0 out of 5 stars Toronto certainly did rock Jun 28 2004
Format:DVD
I was thrilled to be in Toronto (T.O.) to attend this concert last year. I am currently at home watching the DVD of the same. Man, it is amazing to relive this. Tea Party playing right now.

The only complaint so far that I can come up with is that the two main headliners (AC/DC & Rolling Stones) have limited performances - I mean only two songs from AC/DC and six from the Stones, but they are infact extemely worthwhile.

For those who were there or heard about it,the exposure that the remaining 12 bands (8 Canadian, 3 American) had through this is something else. Typically each supporting act got the chance to perform three, maybe four songs. Almost of those are presented completely. The only one missing from the days events was the DJ (sorry, can't remember his name) who provided two intermissions worth of entertainment for the crowd that day and who was amazing to listen to.

Overall a very solid DVD of the days events. Happy I picked it up.

I don's get it. Are you not trying to sell this DVD? Most people like me who have bought the DVD did so because they were at the concert. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty decent, but lousy recording of AC/DC
First of all, there should have been a lot more of AC/DC on this DVD. By all accounts they were the best band of the night. Read more
