This knife block works well and I can store different sized knives in it. I find it best to use every 2nd slot as it would be crowded with all used and harder to grab the knives.

I am enchanted by the idea of an in drawer knife block, however this product isn't what I think I would ultimately want.
pros : there are slits, and it fits knives in a drawer.
cons : the block slides around in the drawer, the knives don't stay in the block well at all... :|
anyway I wouldn't really buy another one of these, but I would recommend the idea of a indrawer knife block. it's a good try, but not worth it all together.

I recently purchased individual Lamson forged cutlery for my kitchen and wanted something a little different than the usual knife block to store/display them on the counter. Based on the description and photos online I decided to pick this knife block. If I had it to do over again I would have stuck to the more traditional block for a number of reasons. First of all, this is actually made out of a number of different pieces of bamboo. The "fins" that separate the knives are attached to the base with some kind of adhesive and two were loose when I received the item. I have an 8" chef's knife and it doesn't fit in the block very well at all. The point actually sticks out higher than the protective groove so you could catch a finger, etc. on it if you aren't careful.
