5.0 out of 5 stars Tracey's fantastic one woman show Nov 30 2009
By Cheryl TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
I'm a Tracey Ullman fan and love this one woman Broadway show, Live and Exposed. She performs autobiographical material which highlights not only events in her life, but origins to some of her many popular characters. Her multi-talents and impersonations are put to good use as she demonstrates incredible versatility and is naturally hilarious. The show itself is amazingly seamless - props, dressers and performers appear on cue as Tracey easily prattles from one segment to the next with boundless energy. The show is very entertaining and ends too soon (approx. 75min.), but my only real disappointment is there are no dvd extras.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tracey spills her comedic guts Sep 8 2005
By eric_f - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
This is a must-have DVD if you're even a casual fan of Tracey Ullman. Just the fact that she's able to pull off a stand-up act of this type proves her comedic talent. Her act is divided into 10 segments: Show In Mommy's Bedroom, Girl With the Star, The Dancing Years, A Little Variety, The Music Thing, Dinner in New York, Married To Hollywood, The Tracey Show, Talking Heads, and The Big Realization. All of these segments represent a period in her life which she feels helped define her both as a person and also as a comedian. Tracey pretty much covers all the major events and turning points of her life, from childhood to the present.

Half stand-up act and half autobiographical monologue, "Tracey Ullman Live and Exposed" is simply hilarious to watch from start to finish. Die-hard fans will probably already know most of what she says here (as I'm sure they've thoroughly researched her biography), but the main reason to watch it is self-explanatory: for Tracey's performance. Finding out about her life is secondary here. Not that watching her telling about her life story isn't entertaining; it definitely is. She goes through several costume changes between segments, and we all know that one of Tracey's best traits as a comedian is transforming into other characters.

If you like Tracey Ullman, you'd be crazy not to get this. And keep an eye out for season one of "Tracey Takes On," soon to be released on DVD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant. Mar 16 2006
By On Stranger Tides - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Tracey is such a clever one. This stand up show is witty, smart and incredibly funny. It was a joy to hear her story from being a little girl after her Father died, to making it big in America years later. She takes you through her young child-era "talking in front of mirrors," to her dance years, to her singing years and then finally when she hits America only to discover so many people to mimic and bring to life in her outstanding HBO series, Tracey Takes On.

This DVD is nicely shot and you get in close on the action, especially during her moments of bringing out some of her most favorite characters. There is a specially wonderful moment where she plays with the wigs of several of her famous Tracey Takes On characters. Not only is it hilarious but it shows how diverse and talented she is at comedy and how remarkable it is to watch her ability to switch characters on the snap. All of this adds to constant laughs.

I've watched this more than I will admit. I've gathered family and friends to watch this and we're all dying of laughter throughout the show.

Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but No Tracey Takes On... Jan 1 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Why Tracey keeps doing these specials is beyond me. She needs to do another Takes On type of show which showed off what she could really do.
