Tracy Anderson's 30 Day Method,
This review is from: Tracy Anderson's 30-Day Method: The Weight-Loss Kick-Start that Makes Perfection Possible (Hardcover)
Unrealistic for most lifestyles. You will need to take time off of work or life to complete this program. Disappointed.

Tracy knows what she's talking about,
This review is from: Tracy Anderson's 30-Day Method: The Weight-Loss Kick-Start that Makes Perfection Possible (Hardcover)
After purchasing all of her workout DVD's, including the Method Mat, Dance Cardio and the Perfect Design Series, this book is a great addition to her system. Here, Tracy breaks down why her method works (it does!), and how she designed it. It is a nice supplement to her workout DVDs. Here, she provides more instruction and a clear description of the moves. At first glance, her muscular structure moves seem silly even, but after about 10-15 repetitions you feel the burn (pardon the cliche). I've been following Tracy Anderson and her method for about two years now, and it really changes your body. Her approach to working out is very different. You do cardio first (which seems killer at the beginning but really your body can do it! Mind over body!), and then the muscular structure moves. You will see lines and definition in places you didn't think you had!The only reason why I do not give this a five star rating is because of the meal plan. I have a very healthy, balanced diet, so I see no reason to follow her meal plans exactly. Some, are a little low on things I enjoy, and do not include much carbs and calories. I like my carbs! And if you do as much cardio and muscular structure workouts as Tracy says, it's not a bad thing. The nice thing about Tracy is that she promotes her method as a lifestyle change, and it takes a lot of hard work. Don't be fooled, doing her workout is extremely tough at the beginning. But stick with it and you'll see amazing results!! Tracy Anderson for the win!

DON'T BUY THIS!!!!,
This review is from: Tracy Anderson's 30-Day Method: The Weight-Loss Kick-Start that Makes Perfection Possible (Hardcover)
My last review seems to have disappeared along with the other ones. I don't feel like reiterating the entire review only to have it demolished again, so here it is - nutshell version!Menu - uninspired and pretentious, no sauces, oils, and foods one couldn't really serve their family - this is a costly and solo venture. Mat Work - the one thing I liked, challenging (frog kick), but 40 reps of each side (working up to 60!!) is enough to make one bite ones lip to keep from crying out of boredom. And they're done SLOOOOWLLY. While I see the science behind this, who has the time?? At least an hour on the floor. Cardio - mind-numblingly boring, one amazing review wrote it was almost comical, like an SNL segment. It's entirely in black and white, and features a rather sullen looking Tracy skipping around to interrupted shots in the middle of dance segments, no symmetry or cues, and completely lacking in motivation or innovation (which is sad, as I'd bought this on the basis of one of her youtube dance video's, which was MUCH more inspiring). While I don't need a yappy overzealous cartoon character to motivate me, the relentless drudgery of this cardio segment leaves one feeling drained, almost depressed, it's sort of like excercising in an unfinished warehouse. Under a naked light bulb. In winter. And they're only 10 minutes for each Cardio Segment (which are remarkably the same with Tracy skipping and swishing this way and that with the odd grapevine added in for good measure), so you have to do it FOUR TIMES to get the minimum 40 required minutes!! I have seen extremely minimal results, I have to confess, I have not followed the diet to the letter, but I found much swifter and noticeable results with another product I shall now gratefully return to. Tracy seems really nice, and I've felt that some really give her a bad rap, so this isn't about the person, only the product. And it is dismal indeed. BUT, I must say if you do follow the diet and work out 2 hours a day, you certainly would see results. Me? I'd rather have the odd chocolate and work out an hour a day TOPS, rest of the time I'll be living.
