Squeal to Hiding Place,
This review is from: Tramp for the Lord (Paperback)
Tramp of the Lord: By Corrie Ten BoonIf you have read Ms Boon's Hiding Place, this book is the squeal. The back drop of Hiding Place was about her experiences in one of the notorious Nazi's concentration camps which were responsible for the demise of nearly 6 million Jews. Though she started as a nominal Dutch Christian at the start of that story but by the time she leaves the camp (after losing most of her family in the concentration camp), she saw Her God as a Sovereign God who never lost control during devastations of the war. In this book she records her travels and her role as an Evangelist for her generation with a message of Healing and Hope to thousands of displaced people in Europe and later to the world. She was also called to bring the same message to the German people who were broken and lost as they had allowed the demonic influences to grip their nation and they committed crimes that will stain them for generations if not for the Cross where they can find forgiveness as they repent of their sins. The Mercy of our Lord is unfathomable and His thoughts are so different from ours.

So inspiring could be used as a devotional,

This review is from: Tramp for the Lord (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book with a box of Kleenex!I think a better way to have read it is daily, like a devotional. The chapters are short, 6 pages tops, and they take one scripture as the theme. Corrie would go into how that scripture was driven home to her, through certain circumstances. The only suggestion I would give is to first read The Hiding Place, you will have a better understand of what this woman went through, and how she was used by God. This book goes into life after the concentration camps, so it is good to have a knowledge of what her life was like before.

This review is from: Tramp for the Lord (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is probably one of the most influencial Christian books that I have read besides the Bible- and I read a lot. I was struck by her simplicity in response to many questions in life. I was also challenged to live a life where I am walking in God's spirit. I would whole-heartedly recommend this book- but you should really read and re-read the text to let it sink in.
