This review is from: Trans Europe Express (Audio CD)
I haven't been into Kraftwerk for very long, but I have listend to this album enough times to know this is one of my all time favorites.Kraftwerk are known for their minimalism and some people don't like them because the songs are "repetitve" or "they just keep going on and on" but that's not what they are all about. Music should flow smoothly with no bumps on the way. The lyrics on the album are scattered throughout, leaving the music to dominate the listener. The opening track, Europe Endless, makes you feel like you are really on the Trans Europ Express looking at all the things that go by with an amazing melody playing. The Hall of Mirrors is easily the catchiest song on the album with one of my favorite lyrics: "Even the greatest stars live their lives in the looking glass" and with some very nice synth playing. The next song, Showroom Dummies can be heard in many disco and pop songs today and deserves credit for it's influence. Trans Europe Express and Metal on Metal flow very well into each other giving you the feeling of being on the Trans Europ Express seeing everything going by, that's something I would like to see in real life oneday. Franz Schubert is I think a tribute to the composer of the same name sounds very nice and has a classic vibe to it. The song flows into the final track, Endless Endless which is just those words repeated over and over and ends the album on a good note. I haven't heard much electronica/synthpop yet, but from what I have heard, Kraftwerk were one of the first to do it, and they did it the best.

70's Must Have,
By M. Fields - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Trans Europe Express (Audio CD)
This was the bomb back in the day. When it came out in 1977 everyone was playing it and I mean everyone. You could hear on boom boxes in black hoods, white hoods, hispanic, german, italian, and so on. Trans Europe Express exploded on African American radio stations. It was the coolest thing back then even though we weren't very familiar with techno music back then. It still sounds great even today. This album brings back great memories. You must have this in your collection especially if you collect old school music.

When this song hit the charts on American soil. It was all over. Partied like crazy off of this one. Still today. I had to get kraftwerk. It was a part of my musical youth.
