It's Fabulous! And Awesome! March 16 2007
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
I like Transformers the most, and I like to transform. The book helped me learn the different names and what each Transformer does. It also helped me learn which ones were good and bad guys. I like it very much and read it almost every day. Hayden 6yrsold

As his Mom, it is a useful tool to help him study & appreciate his toys and adds value to them. It's teaching him research skills, and gives him something to work towards as he sets his site on a new transformer from the book. The colorful pictures show off the product detail, and the history of each Transformer is fantastic as you know what their skills are to play battle.

Hardly anything even roughly approximating a "guidebook." Maybe a "character guide," as it shows a good number of character models used in the show. However, there seem to be a number of omissions and/or outright inaccuracies. Having just watched the show in its entirety, I could pick these out pretty easily. And there didn't really seem to be any discussion of storyline, just brief information on the characters themselves. If they wanted to call this a guidebook, they really should have covered the story arc and back story in some detail. I mean, sure maybe it would be 'spoiler' material if you read it before watching the series. But for those who've already watched it, this book really offers NOTHING new or much of value, unfortunately. It seems like it was MAYBE intended for PARENTS trying to keep up with their kids' TV-watching habits? Or for kids who just want a couple paragraphs on the various characters from the TV show they're watching.

Generally, due to the incompleteness and outright inaccuracies, I wouldn't really recommend wasting much thought on this one. It's pretty skippable. The Armada Official Guidebook too...
