The description "this is the most comprehensive book on the trees of Canada and the northern United States ever published" may well be true. I am always pleasantly surprised to open this book. A handy-sized reference that balances high quality colour photographs, line drawings and well written text.

Being the owner of a large acreage property with several tree species, I was looking for a guide that would help me identify our trees easily, and this book did! I LOVE the grouping references on the inside of the covers, it immediately gives you a cue as to what type of tree you're looking at. What I didn't expect and was pleasantly surprised to find was the tree name in french on the identification pages. What a great nod to the Canadian culture! Great book full of information, a great reference to keep for years!
