This book is a great resource for anyone interested in finding out about the natural wealth we have in the trees of Ontario. We have beautiful forests, and learning a bit about those trees is worthwhile.
The book is organized very well, and great photographs make it easy to identify even the more unusual trees you can come across in this great province.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect book for a trip to the woods or for planing which trees to plant in your yard, Oct 2 2011
By Zach Aysan - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Trees of Ontario, including tall shrubs (Paperback)
It took me a while to find this book. I knew exactly what I was looking for, something that explained how to identify different trees, what they are good for (the wood grain, how often they seed, how fast they grow), and where they live. I was hoping for something with helpful drawings and a good introduction section.

The thing I wasn't expecting was that this type of book would be as localized as Ontario (!) and would have such a high print quality. The photos are perfect, the illustrations are amazing, the prose is extraordinarily readable and approachable, and it includes a number of references in the back.

I hope the author (a fellow Waterloo Alumni, as it turns out!) gets to read this review because I would really like to thank her for the perfect introduction into a lifetime passion.
