Gets the job done, and doesn't look balky.

Easy to install. The ties are beginning to pop through their knot, but doesn't seem to be a big deal.

This didn't fit the sides exactly, as it buckles a little because of the extra fabric, but I don't mind it because it is keeping my little boy and his crib safe :)

NOTE: the side rails come as a SET so you DON'T HAVE TO BUY 2!

Does Its Job, But Smells Terrible Dec 24 2013

I was in a desperate bind after my son woke up one day and decided to start eating the crib rails on his Babyletto Modo crib. I needed something and fast, before he destroyed all the rails with his little teeth. Apparently there aren't many options in crib rail covers despite the fact that I assume the majority of babies go through this destructive chewing stage. The only options it seemed were the Leachco brand and this one, or make it myself, which was going to take a lot longer. So far these have been doing the trick. My son chews on them instead of the rails, which is the main benefit. However, I wish they were a tad bigger in all directions. The crib has narrow rails, but it still isn't narrow enough for this to cover completely. The other option seemed like it would hang down way too low. If they had one in between these two sizes I think it would be much better. Also, my son likes to hang out at the corners of the crib, so if these were slightly longer, I'd feel better that he couldn't totally attack the corners with his teeth. The ties could also be longer. As it is, they fit, but just barely. The main negative is that these stink, literally. It's either from the packaging or the materials, but there's a distinct chemical odor and after washing a few times, it's still there. I feel terrible that my son is chewing on these things despite the chemicals, but until I have the time to sit down and make my own, these have to suffice. I also feel that it's kind of expensive for just one rail cover, and because of the crib we have, we need 4 of these covers instead of 3.

Does the job of protecting the crib July 7 2014
By E-Mom - Published on
I bought these in addition to the front rail cover when my daughter was nearly 8 months old and now she is 2 yo. They're not the prettiest site, especially when you've done such a time consuming task of picking out the prettiest crib, but they do the job and are temporary. I just removed them these but have kept the front rail on just in case. I can't remember if they had a strong odor, but I did wash them and air dried them before using - I'd have to say that the smell was probably insignificant at that point, because or else I would have remembered. Even though I bought Trend Labs Avocado side covers and the one long front rail cover; the color was slightly off, but not enough to return them. I bought these just in case she started to chew on the sides in order to protect the veneer on her crib. They did the job, however she could've cared less about the sides of the crib. These covers are simply 'covers' (fleece w/ back plastic lining), not pads; there is no significant padding that you'd expect. For that, I give 4 stars because I feel that there could be an improved quality and features to the product. I put a twice-folded blanket underneath the rail cover to provide a 'cushion' - it stayed in place well. I did this for 2 reasons, 1) a hard bite would be sure not to get through and 2) there would be a cushion on the rail in case of falls. My child has never tried to undo the ties or remove the covers. The other negative about these is an inconvenience factor of needing to remove them when I need to remove the mattress to wash her bed sheet. Her crib required 3 of the railing covers and I eventually learned how tip the mattress and pull it up so I wouldn't need to remove the side cover(s), but I would think that it would be more cumbersome if the crib required 4 covers. But you do what you have to do to keep things nice!

These look cute and stopped my daughter from chewing on her crib. I ended up buying a second set for my parents house.

My baby has become a chewing machine and this has worked great on his crib. Easy to install, soft, looks great in his room and keeps him from chewing on his crib. Would definitely recommend!
