Ok, but not great,

This review is from: Trick Training for Horses: Fun Ways to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Horse (Paperback)
There were only about 5 tricks I would actually teach my horse in this book, I was disappointed on how it focused more on 'cheap' tricks and less on classical ones. there was one trick where you could teach your horse to grab the saddle off his back and throw it on the floor. Uh... No thanks! I would say about 70% of the tricks are ridiculous. Not worth the money

this book delivers,
This review is from: Trick Training for Horses: Fun Ways to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Horse (Paperback)
and then some.there are very exact instructions that make it impossible not to succeed and fantastically detailed photographs for every stage of the tricks, you can"t go wrong, my horses are learning SO fast, we will be soon performing for others than ourselves. it's so rewarding to have such visible results in no time. the author deals very competently with the topic of treat rewards, which she states, used responsibly and with a plan result in a very willing and cooperative student! the learning of these tricks togethr WILL help you and your horse bond and also serves to endear the equine to non=owners who may one day become owners because they once saw the intelligence displayed by a trick horse. the world needs more horses and to SEE more horses and what a great way to show them off. amazingly generous of the author to share such useful and valuable training tips for such a reasonable price (don't tell her, but it's easily worth double the price for what you will get out of reading and applying the knowledge about horse behavior you are sure to learn). i predict this will become a classic in horse training literature. (no i do not know the author, just can"t say enough good things about this book) best new book on horses i have purchased in years. buy a copy for any young people who are learning to work with horses, they will quickly develop a rapport with the equines and will never again see them as dumb animals, it might even influence them to be more patient with humans, that can't hurt! we're using these principals in our youth equine therapy program.
