Book Description

Skilled Java programmers can use this text to expand upon their existing knowledge and learn new capabilities of the language. The book assumes that the reader is familiar with the basics of Java, or, at the very least, is an experienced programmer in a related language like C or C++. Such advanced Java application programming topics have received only sketchy coverage in most Java books because, until recently, Java has been too new and unstable to effectively deal with these topics in an in-depth manner.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book for the Java expert, Aug 28 1997
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tricks of the Java Programming Gurus (Paperback)
It is unique in that it is aimed
at people who already know Java, but want advanced material on numerous different topics (by comparsion, "Advanced Java" is pretty
focused. It does meet this aim. It won't be a book you'll read from cover to cover. Most likely, you'll initially read one or two chapters. Then
you'll put it on your shelf until you need to read about one of the other topics in this book. Some examples of the topics covered are Modifying
the Security Manager, Native Methods, and Factory Objects. I haven't seen another book covering any of these topics.
