The wait is over. For the first time ever, experience the majesty of Disney’s epic animated masterpiece as it roars off the screen and into your living room on Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D. With a spectacular digital picture, spine-tingling high definition sound and immersive bonus features—you will feel the love for this critically acclaimed and universally beloved classic like never before.

Embark on an extraordinary coming-of-age adventure as Simba, a lion cub who cannot wait to be king, searches for his destiny in the great “Circle of Life.” You will be thrilled by the breathtaking animation, unforgettable Academy Award®–winning music (1994: Best Original Score; Best Song, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”) and timeless story. The king of all animated films reigns on Disney Blu-ray 3D—magic in a new dimension.

The Lion King 1 1/2
Hilarity reigns in the motion picture comedy-adventure that takes you waaay back to the beginning before Simba's tale began...and beyond! From their uniquely hysterical perspective, Timon and his windy pal Pumbaa -- the greatest unsung heroes of the savanna! -- reveal where they came from, how they helped Simba save the Serengeti and what really happened behind the scenes of THE LION KING's biggest events. This essential chapter of THE LION KING trilogy features the orginal all-star voice cast as your favorite characters and music by Elton John and Tim Rice. You will feel the love for every outrageously funny moment!

The Lion King 2
Experience the power of "Upendi" -- which means "love" -- as Kiara, Simba's strong-willed daughter, seeks adventure away from her father's watchful gaze. Timon and Pumbaa can do only so much to protect her, especially when she encounters an intriguing rival, Kovu, a cub who is being groomed to lead Scar's pride. As Kiara and Kovu search for their proper places in the great "Circle Of Life," they discover that it may be their destiny to reunite their prides and bring peace to the Pride Lands. Featuring the original all-star voice cast, breathtaking animation and enchanting songs, Kiara and Kovu?s adventure thrills audiences of all ages as the glorious "Circle Of Life" continues for a new generation.

Not an ideal choice for younger kids, this hip and violent animated feature from Disney was nevertheless a huge smash in theaters and on video, and it continues to enjoy life in an acclaimed Broadway production. The story finds a lion cub, son of a king, sent into exile after his father is sabotaged by a rivalrous uncle. The little hero finds his way into the "circle of life" with some new friends and eventually comes back to reclaim his proper place. Characters are very strong, vocal performances by the likes of Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and Whoopi Goldberg are terrific, the jokes are aimed as much (if not more) at adults than kids, the animation is sometimes breathtaking, and the music is more palatable than in many Disney features. But be cautious: this is too intense for the Rugrat crowd. --Tom Keogh

The original film is great, the transfer is also good - The film on it's own is a 5 star.
The other films don't quite live up to the original, but are fun none the less.

What is disappointing with this set and hence only the 3 stars
1) The lack of digital copies for the latter two films if you see the Toy Story or Cars sets, all films in the set came with digital copies - This might not be an issue to everyone, but in this digital age, putting the films on a iPad et al, is very useful for trips.
2) The way the discs were packaged, they were `clumped together' and sitting vertically in the `drum'. Not only could this be damaging to the discs over time, this was a complete waste of space.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the movie, cheap box set is alright. Feb. 15 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
The movies are great. I wish the box set was a little more sturdier that the cardboard. The little case that holds the movies is garbage. The velcro keeps coming off. I don't know if its worth it get them like this or to buy them all individually.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Lion King Set made for a king! July 22 2012
By Edward
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
For the right price, this set is a great purchase. It includes pretty much everything a Lion King fan could need: The first three movies on Blu-ray and DVD, plus the first movie as a digital copy and in 3D. The case is very nice and built fairly well. My pet peeves are similar to those already posted: the discs are all in a "sleeve" booklet, and there seems to be a lot of waisted space. Besides that, it's a really different package that you don't see too often. I bought mine 50% off, so the price was right!

Honestly buy this when it goes on sale. I got mine for 54.00 as appose to the regular
price on here of over 100.00. The box is really cool and it comes with all the DVD's
and Blue Ray but what I didn't like is how it was actually packaged. The box it comes in
is tied some how by a ribbon and if you don't tie it, the door to inside of it hangs open.
So having to untie something just to watch a movie that's already annoying enough.
What's inside the box though is that drum there that you see in the picture. It's made of
some kind of paper and it opens up by twisting and pulling. Once it's open there' the DVD's
on their side. It's like a little wallet of Lion King Movies. I don't like this part because you
have no idea which end is the beginning of the trilogy and which one is the end. Also remember
you have all the Blue Rays in there too so you have to pull them all out individually to find the one
your looking for. So you gotta make sure it's organized so you know which one is which. It's all an
unnecessary pain in the butt just to watch a movie. If they had little mini DVD cases and just put them individually inside them or even 2 at a time (Blue Ray and DVD) that would have been 100 times better. Your paying a good
chunk of it for packaging wait till it goes on sale.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Movies, bad packaging Dec 14 2011
By Melissa
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
All the movies on their own are good (except I am not really a fan of Lion King 1.5. This package is great as you get all discs in Blu-Ray and DVD format, which is great if you missed out on buying Lion King 2 as I did on DVD. It sucks that they don't sell Lion King 2 separately with BluRay however

My major gripe of the boxset is that the packaging that all 8 discs come is horrible. It is very compact like a CD wallet, but the discs can easily fall out when opening the wallet type package through the sides. Also, after one use the glue on the Velcro already came off, which is a major fault in the packaging.

The actual box that the Cylinder container goes in (not the Cylinder) is rather detailed and nice looking, which is good
