Remember when your mother used to read you those adventurous fairy tales when you were but a child? They would worry you and scare you, but you wanted more of them at every sitting. This novel is in the tradition of Grimm's Fairy Tales, Lord of the Rings, and the Chronicles of Narnia. I loved reading Troll Steps. On a more profound level, it deals with what it means to be fully human.
