The luminescent lines and shimmering surfaces of Tron: Legacy will tantalize anyone who's lusted after the latest smartphone. The long-ago disappearance of his computer-genius father has left Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund, Four Brothers) with existential ennui and a lot of money. When he discovers his father's secret workshop, he gets sucked into a computerized realm ruled by a megalomaniac computer program named Clu--who just happens to be his father's virtual doppelganger. To find his real father (Jeff Bridges, reprising his role from the original Tron, with a bit of his role from The Big Lebowski thrown in for kicks), Sam has to fight in gladiatorial games, drive in digital demolition derbies, and be stripped and dressed by slinky pneumatic babes. For all the techno-babble and quasi-philosophy the characters spout, this is a movie without an idea in its shiny head. It would be pointless to describe the many sillinesses because Tron: Legacy isn't actually trying to be smart; it's trying to look cool. It succeeds. Olivia Wilde (House) looks like the coolest action figure ever (if the entire movie could be nothing but the shot of her lounging on a futuristic sofa, it would be a masterpiece of avant-garde gizmo-fetishism). The facemasks are cool, the glowing skintight outfits are cool, the light-cycles are really, really cool--and let's be honest, it's all about the light-cycles. That's what the audience for Tron wants, and that's what Tron: Legacy delivers. --Bret Fetzer

If you enjoyed the original -- and even if you didn't -- Tron Legacy deserves to make it into your library. It had been a decade or two since I watched the original (on VHS) and there is enough backstory in Legacy to bring you into the movie and storyline, and I therefor think that for those who haven't seen the original Tron this should make it easy to get up to speed and enjoy the flick.

This is one of the best movies to justify the money you've invested in your 3D system, and the soundtrack by Daft Punk does similar work on your audio setup. It's visual and audio candy at it's finest!

A bit disappointing. I expected more. Maybe I should have watched the first one before seeing Legacy... Could have been more spectacular. They could have insisted more on the virtual aspect vs the real world, explain it better and illustrate it better. That said, the picture is nice, the sets are impressive, but the whole movie isn't on par with masterpieces like Oblivion or Dark City. Maybe watch the first one before. Would it help appreciate it?

Usually I am afraid of sequels... especially the ones made decades after the original. This is an exception. Lots of fun. Great to see a CGI version of Jeff Bridges 20 years younger, although a bit plastic looking but hey... he's in the "Grid" after all. Was missing the spiritual thoughts of the first one (who are the "users" really?) but the action and look and feel compensated.

This is a science-fiction movie and revision of 1980's version. The graphic is great, plot is great, and was made in Vancouver, BC Canada. The main character went to a video club and entered in the computer game, found his father and came back to real time.

This is the very good science-fiction movie and the Blu-ray makes it even better. The soundtrack from Daft Punk make the movie one of a kind.
