4.0 out of 5 stars A perfect book for the young gardener April 7 2000
Lavishly illustrated with full colour photographs on every page, this book is perfect for the young gardener. Written in a simple, concise yet entertaining fashion, this book describes some of the popular flowering plants found in the gardens of Southeast Asia (one species to a page). Though thin, this book manages to squeeze in much of the important information on each plant including the common and scientific names. In addition, the sidebars also list the common names of each species in Thai and Malay which would be useful in trying to find these plants in Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia.

Nice, compact book. Great for a quick reference. Pictures are sharp and the info is on point. Wish there were more on Caribbean plants.
