Product Description

Product Description

What if you had the power to change the future, by reliving the past? Eliza Dushko and Jason Priestly star in Tru Calling, a sexy, fast-paced show with dramatic ticking clock suspense that puts a stylish new spin on crime thrillers.

Amazon.ca

Tru Calling's trump cards are its intriguing paranormal premise and the lead performance by the underrated Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), both of which have earned it a small but loyal audience; both of these virtues are preserved in this six-disc set that includes not only the entire 2003 debut season but a surprising amount of supplemental features. Dushku plays Tru Davies, a young morgue attendant who discovers, much to her dismay, that she can hear the voices of the dead, as well as reverse their fates; with the help of her brother (Shawn Reaves) and boss (Zack Galifianakis), Tru relives the last day of these people's lives in order to prevent their untimely deaths.

Episodic highlights include "Valentine," which pits Tru against a serial killer; "Closure," in which a young war hero attempts to reunite with his girlfriend after his death; "Murder in the Morgue," which revolves around the killing of a bride on her wedding day; and "Daddy's Girl," which reveals some disturbing news regarding Tru's past and introduces Jason Priestley as the sinister-seeming Jack Harper, a man with powers similar to hers, but with very different intentions regarding the recently deceased. The six-disc set includes all 20 episodes of the first season (including the two-part finale), several featuring commentary by Dushku, Reaves, and the producers; deleted scenes, audition reels for several cast members, and a music video for Full Blown Rose's theme song, "Can Somebody Help Me," round out the extras. --Paul Gaita

At least the first season of this show was released on DVD. I really enjoyed this show. It had an interesting premise and Eliza Dushku is a great actress. This is just another example of TV executives cancelling another great show, while leaving TV viewers with more mindless reality shows and sitcoms to watch. Congrats FOX.
Pick up this DVD it is great.

Eliza Dushka is impressive as Tru Davies. She brings a fresh spunky attitude to the show.
Shaw Reaves deserves an honerable mention for playing the disfunctional brother.
The show brings a new twist to reliving days, and show how changing events can change our fate.
Bringing in Jason Priestley as the sinister Jack Havper was a great twist.

I bought this at Walmart for $10 (July 2013) cuz I needed a time waster and I'm glad I did. The story is a little off the wall - a girl working in the morgue can right the wrongs of the dead if they ask for her help by re-living the day and preventing their death - but why not. They have shows about mediums and telekinesis why not this too. I'm not sorry I bought it. I'm going to buy season 2 for $10 as well. The box has 6 DVD's in it containing all 20 episodes and many guest stars that you'll easily recognize. Even A.J. Cook from Criminal Minds is a regular on the show. I didn't see it when it was on TV because I had a job that kept me on the road so I'm glad I have the opportunity to catch it now. Hope this helped anyone looking for a new show to watch!

This show rocked, with all the suspense and what not it kept you on your feet for sure. I am looking forward to the 2nd season, although on tv it was only 6 episodes it better be more on the DVD. It was a great show...wish they still had it on.
