I got this infuser as a Xmas present and recently used oregano and garlic as a first try to add flavor to olive oil. After letting it sit for a day, I tried to pour some on a plate to use as a dip for bread. Unfortunately, nothing came out until it started dripping from the unremovable top cap. I ended up having to remove the inside liner of the cap that says "do not remove" in order to investigate, and apparently the silicone spout separated from the metal exit portion of the spout. After numerous tries to re-attach it, I gave up and just removed the cap and poured some oil on the plate. The oil was delicious, but I could have done the same thing with some cheesecloth and a mason jar for less than $1.
This bottle is pretty, but a terrible design. The silicone interior spout SHOULD be removable for thorough cleaning, since continued use would cause a build-up of layers of old oil inside the spout. Therefore, the cap should be able to be dis-assembled in order to re-attach the spout after cleaning. This seems to be another case of a semi-engineered product that was not thought through.
I will be returning it, once I figure out how to re-assemble the over-engineered package.
