To understand where I'm coming from. 1st season was the best. 2nd was terrible except for the story of Sookie and Bill in Dallas. 3rd with Russell was great, almost as good as the 1st. 4th was just below the 3rd- not great, but watchable. And 5th...

To start with, the storyline dealing with Terry Belfleur was just awful and pointless. Useless characters like these should either be shipped out or relegated to wallpaper. Without giving away too much for those who've not watched it- there's a whole lot of promise with certain characters. With some it led to utterly disappointing scenarios, with other major characters- it took this show (that's always straddled the line between cheesy/fun and just plain stupid) to a whole new level of ridiculousness in a VERY bad way. To top it off, it was mostly incredibly boring. When the "good stuff" finally happened, I'd already zoned out and didn't care anymore.

I have a tough time believing the creator Alan Ball worked on this season at all, as everything just feels so phoned in and forced. Unless you're a die hard, see no evil fan- there's really no point in buying this. Borrow it or rent it. There isn't anything left in this dried up hunk of a formerly giddy, over the top, fun & trashy guilty pleasure.

I use too love this show but now it is sinking faster than the Titanic.Unfortunately I think the show is on it's last leg and will be no more in another couple of seasons. This use to be such a good show it is so sad to see it go down hill.

I'm not sure why people are posting all these negative comments. I kind of believed what I read here, at first, because I remembered not being too happy with a previous season ( not sure if it was 3 or 4 ?). But, when the price of season 5 dropped around ten dollars, decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. Season 5 has turned out to be one the best seasons of all. I mean, yes, the first season was the best, given that it was a brand new concept. But how do you match that? How do you repeat that success? Well, figure out the winning formula, and repeat it, but also add some more twists and surprises at the same time. Which is what they did. And I am all of a sudden, hooked once again to this show.

So ordered this when it came out. Just started watching it yesterday. The 3rd disc was pretty marked up and freezes so I am not able to full watch episode 6..Stops and freezes at about 42 minutes. Tried to restart 3 times and gave up.

Once you begin the adventure of Sookie; Bill; Erik and Tara; you are drawn into a world like you have never
encountered before. True Blood takes you on an adventure into the structure and life style of the Vampire
Empire and the similarities between human and vampire daily life. True Blood keeps you on the edge of
your seat with twists and turns in the story lines and the characters have a life of their own and you find
yourself part of the series and the emotion and feelings you feel for the characters is hard to explain; but,
you can not wait to see what is going to happen next to Sookie and her friends and what twisted fate awaits
them.

The church is gone, but the wife is out for blood which she gets in an unexpected manner. Its sad to see Bill and Sookie on the outs but Eric attains a reasonably human personna. The Fairy/Vampire who wants Sookie for his own revenge gets the girl but pays the price of it. We see the Vampires under seige but I was disappointed that they were unable to conquer the problem. As this is the second to last season, one can only hope that Sookie finds happiness at the conclusion of the next season. Alan Ball does not disappoint with this season as all characters are involved and the action is intense.

We follow this series and really get a kick out of it! At times it's a bit ridiculous, but we can't wait to see it anyway.

At first, I wasn't sure about this season. Seemed like a lot going on with not much continuity. But I was WRONG. Very enjoyable to see Bill's transition to darker side and the Alcide change from obsessing over Sookie to a werewolf of his own pack was also a nice turnaround. Still loving the Northman and his lover/sister dynamic and hope they kick ass! Plus wanna say, what an ending, wow!
