Completely Satisfied, Mar 19 2011
This review is from: True Unity: Willing Communication Between Horse and Human (Hardcover)
Placing this order was the first time I've used Amazon.ca.. It was so easy! I relied on other people's reviews in making my decision so it's only fair that I give mine.
I was slightly surprised that it took a month to receive, however the delay was likely Canada Post. When my book finally arrived it was in the true "gently used" condition that I had expected. The price was unbeatable compared to new!
I would definitely order from Amazon again!
As for the book....I don't know why anyone who was in possession of this book would let it leave their hands. Tom Dorrance is the epitome of horsemanship. I have only one word of 'caution' for lack of a better word. This book is for experienced horse people.....people who already KNOW horses...FEEL horses and who want to 'deepen' or enrich their understanding. I believe otherwise, you will not understand the contents of this book, which is likely why it was for sale again. Even Tom Dorrance took this book, which he wrote, with him everywhere.

A book by Father Horsemanship, Jan 21 2003
This review is from: True Unity: Willing Communication Between Horse and Human (Hardcover)
This is the man who started it all. Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman and many others learned from Tom, the horse's lawyer, how to work with the horse and establish a relationship based on trust and respect. It is one book you'll need to read many times. As a teacher of horsemanship, I have read it at least 3 times and still get something new each time. Thank you, Tom for making it possible to help the horse in this way.

Hard to read., Jan 7 2005
This review is from: True Unity: Willing Communication Between Horse and Human (Hardcover)
Tom Dorrance sure was one of the fathers of horsemanship and a great horseman, but he wasn't a writer. Half of the book consists of student's opinions and encounters with Dorrance and is mildly interesting. The rest is just incoherent talk about "feel", which sure is important, but this book neither clearly states what it means nor shows you how to get it.
