Recently I had to split a massive hardwood log that was about 5 feet in diameter and weighed about 1700 lbs. This stump portion came from tree that was a city landmark.
With a 20 lb sledge hammer and three splitting wedges, it next to impossible to split. The user is a former competitive power lifter. The wedges would often bounce out. However once I could get this pry bar in a large enough opening, I could crack the wood. It made the job MUCH easier.
There was another log -- perhaps about 3000 lbs that needed to be moved. This pry bar also allowed manipulation of that log with a reasonable amount of effort.
