From the Author
One of my first true tests as a parent came when our oldest son began to question the existence of Santa Claus. I have always believed that excluding Santa from our Christmas tradition would remove much of the fun and childlike wonder from the holiday season. At the time, I felt unequipped to provide a truthful answer that would not undermine the trust between parent and child.
Over the years, as our four children have grown up, I have adapted a story that maintains the integrity of the true meaning of Christmas, without contradicting any of our traditional holiday customs. The book explains that Nicholas, the real Santa, was a Christian who loved Jesus very much. When we observe the tradition of Santa Claus, we are honoring the memory of the man who set an example for us by showing Christ's love through gifts at Christmastime.
