4.0 out of 5 stars Great Box Set, Aug 18 2011
This review is from: Twelve Plays by Shakespeare (Paperback)
The material inside the box set alone would make it worthy of purchase, but the fact that is comes inside a nice collector set is an additional plus. I would be more than happy to give this piece as a gift to any Shakespeare fan.

I'll address some specifics for those on the fence:

The good: the plays in this set (Hamlet, Richard the III, Othello) are arguably some of his best. The set has a nice photo of Shakespeare on it (as in the image above). And it looks nice sitting on ones shelf.

The bad: cardboard isn't of god quality (as is to be expected given the price). But that is not a major issue for me. If 11 of the 12 plays are in there, and I wanted to put the last one back in, it takes time to not hit any of the creases on my book. A little pet peeve is how on the box it says `'twelve plays by Shakespeare''.

Knowing what I know now I would definitely buy the item again if I had to. (All the books inside are the Dover thrift ones).

This review is from: Twelve Plays by Shakespeare (Paperback)
This boxed set contains 12 separate paperback books (Dover Thrift Editions). They're fairly compact and as such, will fit into my summer travel plans. The box itself is really nice (very solid); it looks pretty good on my shelf and I could see giving this set as a gift. At $15 for 12 books the price is pretty hard to beat.

A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Twelve Plays by Shakespeare (Paperback)
As an actor, I thought it would be helpful to have these plays on hand in separate books instead of one large compilation. The books are thin & very easy to take with me. I would recommend these for anyone, especially those who are love with Mr. Billy Shakes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff, Jan 6 2011
By So, in the End... - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Twelve Plays by Shakespeare (Paperback)
Be it Hamlet, Macbeth, or Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare is still as important in today's world than ever. Shakespeare's works show the complexity of humans. His characters are three-dimensional and diverse. His works appeal to a large audience because even if they were written in the Renaissance, their human emotions and truths still exist. So, it's nice to have everything in a nice little box with 12 plays to read whenever things are getting a little dull. The books are all thin and very easy to understand.
