Twilight Zone: Season One [Import]

I am a huge fan of the original series and i was at first extremely disappointed by my purchase of this revival series since it seemed to be so horribly low budget and it showed with every frame on almost every episode. I soon figured out that my biggest issue with this show was the choice of frame rate for the dvd. Specifically that they recorded the show almost entirely at 60 frames per second which gives it a cheesy soap opera like effect and i found a work around to fix that by simply watching it on my pc and manually lowering the frame rate on my monitor to 25 fps which gives it a watchable frame rate. 60 fps isn't the only issue with the show, the choice in music for most of the episodes is so bad that it really takes away from the experience. Some of the episodes are just plain bad in terms of writing but there are a few that stand out as completely amazing and even rod sterling himself would be proud of if he were around to see them today. The best episode in terms of writing, production quality(including 24fps, good acting and good choice of music) would be "Cradle of darkness" in which a woman is sent back in time it kill a baby named Adolf Hitler. I own a chain of video stores so i was able to get this complete series for around $16 from entertainment one distribution Canada and for the price it was a bargain. It won't stack up to the 1959 series or even the 1985 series but if you give it a shot i promise there will be a few episodes that you will like.

I am a big Twilight Zone fan. First with the classic episodes then with the 1985-86 series. This DVD set is a great bunch of stories that are worth watching. Forrest Whitaker as the new Rod Sterling was a nice new addition. I would also recommend the Outer Limits series, both classic and the newer version.

The 3rd Twilight Zone series only lasted for one season, this box set will include all of its episodes. This show aired for 22 weeks, with 2 episodes for every one-hour show, so there will be 44 episodes in this set.

This set will be presented in widescreen, and will have 5.1 Surrond Sound , DTS Surround, and Stereo Surround Sound.

Like the original show, this Twilight Zone series has a lot of big name guest stars: Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Alexander, Jessica Simpson, Jaime Presley, Jason Bateman, Usher, Lou Diamond Phillips, Cloris Leachman, Method Man, Molly Sims, Amber Tamblyn (of TV's Joan of Arcadia), Vivica A. Fox, Portia de Rossi, Dean Winters (of TV's Oz), Dylan Walsh, Patrick Warburton, Eriq La Salle, and comedian Paul Rodriquez.

This set also includes remakes of two classic Twilight Zone episodes -- "The Eye of the Beholder" (a plastic surgery story) and "The Monsters on Maple Street" (a lynch mob tale about aliens possibly in their area).

Also, in this set is a sequel to an old Twilight Zone episode called "It's Still a Good Life" (the original was about a kid with the power to make a person disappear, if you think negitive thoughts. The kid would say that he'd send you to "the cornfield") The sequel on this box set includes two of the actors from the original episode: Billy Mumy (who played the kid) and Cloris Leachman.
