5.0 out of 5 stars Chase the Storm and the Romance...... Dec 14 2002
Format:Audio CD
Just like the film, this soundtrack of "Twister" has you experiencing all the action and adventure of chasing the storm, to the stormy and unpredictable love affair admist it. Feel the excitment of the chase and the coming of the tornado with songs like "Humans Being" by Van Halen, and "Virtual Realty" by Rusted Root. Experience the hearbreak and the joys of love with romantic ballads "Love Affair" by K.D. Lang and Shania Twain's "No One Needs To Know".Then you'll be thrilled once again by the forces of nature to the tunes of "Twisted" by Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham and "Respect the Wind" by Edward and Alex Van Halen.
This album has something for everyone. It's a great mix, including music by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mark Knopfler.(see buying info for complete list) If you haven't seen the film, you'll want to after listening to it and if you've already seen it, the album will make you want to watch it again (and vice versa!).
The "Twister" soundtrack is great to listen to in the car as well as at home....Chase YOUR dreams!....Laurie

3.0 out of 5 stars A must for Alison Krauss fans. June 26 1999
Format:Audio CD
Here's a tip: Buy this CD and "So Long, So Wrong" by Alison Krauss. Record "Moments Like This" as the lead track, followed by all of the Alison-vocals-only tracks from "So Long..." (place the one instrumental track just before the song "It Doesn't Matter"). Sit back and enjoy what could have been an all-time classic instead of just the great album it already is! As for the rest of the Twister soundtrack, "Broken" by little-known (and shouldn't be) Belly/Tanya Donnelly is excellent, and when you compare the awe-inspiring "Respect the Wind" with the aw-ful "Humans Being" you have solid proof that Eddie should consider NEVER hiring another vocalist. k.d. lang's "Love Affair" would have worked well on "All You Can Eat." Tori Amos fans will already have a better mix of "Talula" - non-Tori fans will not be persuaded. Mark Knopfler seems lost & out of place; Lisa Loeb's song is nice; Stevie Nicks & Lindsay Buckingham should "stay their own way" so to speak; The Goo Goo Dolls & Shania Twain songs were overplayed long ago; RHCP, Rusted Root & Soul Asylum all provide disappointing leftovers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Good But Could Be Better July 5 2003
Format:Audio CD
Twister is my favorite movie and my favorite song is "Humans Being" But the soundtrack could be better. There were a few songs in the movie that were not included in the soundtrack like "Motherless Child" by Eric Clapton. "Long Way Down" is a great song by the Goo Goo Dolls considering most of there songs are slow."Respect The Wind" is a pretty good instrumental song but is a little too long and can get a little boring. "Virtual Reality" is a OK song but is kind of annoying when you hear it more than one. The rest of the tracks arn't too rememberable except for a couple from the movie because they were played low and not for long. Although i really love this CD, The Twister Score by Mark Mancina is much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very underrated soundtrack. May 10 2004
Format:Audio CD
It may not have had any hit single on it, but this soundtrack is very good, very likeable, and very underrated, especially the song "Twisted" by Stevie Nicks. If anyone is familiar with her story, then you will realize that this song is actually historic because it marked the first time since 1987 that we heard Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham singing together on a commercial release.
A lot of the other songs are very good, too. Most of the time pass the Van Halen and Rusted Root songs, but the Tori Amos and Alison Krauss are very nice. Ditto for Mark Knopfler, KD, Lisa Loeb, and Belly.
Something for every taste on this soundtrack and that's what makes it a good album. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars A good mix of different kinds of music Oct. 23 2000
By jao
Format:Audio CD
The Twister soundtrack has everything most people would want from a soundtrack. It has hard rocking songs such as Van Halen's "Humans Being," great party songs (Rusted Roots's "Virtual Reality"), good country songs (Shania Twain's "No One Needs To Know"), and even some good instrumentals ("Respect The Wind"). The album isn't chocked full of hits like a lot of other soundtracks, but for what it is, it's good.
If you like soundtracks with a good mix of different kinds of music, the Twister soundtrack could be for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some great songs are on this cd June 26 1998
Format:Audio CD
Of course "Humans Being" by Van Halen is the most recognizable song on this soundtrack, but there are also some other really good songs. "Broken" by Belly and the Goo Goo Dolls "Long Way Down" are both great songs that you probably have heard before. The coolest song on the whole Cd is "Respect the Wind" by Ed and Alex Van Halen, this is just a really great song with awesome guitar solos, listen for it on the credits for Twister. This is one of my favorite soundtracks and I highly recommend it!
