Product Description

Product Description

This groundbreaking book, from three leading career experts, shows readers how they can gain momentum in their job searches and careers through “tweets” that consist of fewer characters than a standard text message. Readers learn how to exponentially increase the size of their personal and professional networks by exchanging ideas, demonstrating subject-matter expertise, enhancing their reputation, and developing a “fan club.” As the definitive guide to using Twitter in the job hunt, this book addresses how individuals can build their professional brand, boost their online identity, find job leads, discover unadvertised positions, research companies, uncover industry trends, prepare for interviews, and raise their value as an expert in their field.

Twitter has exploded in growth and it has become a fertile field for recruiters and employers to source potential candidates for positions. Social media is providing job seekers with platforms for visibility in their job search unlike we've ever known. The book, "The Twitter Job Search Guide" provides comprehensive strategies and is written for people with all levels of experience on Twitter (one chapter will tell you to skip it if you are not new to Twitter). This book is so well-written with tips from some of the leading authorities on online identity, personal branding, and career coaching. It is a MUST have book for anyone wanting to unleash the power of Twitter as part of their job search strategy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why do I need Twitter when I have FB and Linked IN?, May 12 2010

This review is from: Twitter Job Search Guide: Find a Job and Advance Your Career in Just 15 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
Well, this book tells you why twitter is more than the superficial fluff site I thought it to be. I really wasn't going to use it, esp since the # and all the 160 character stuff, and the fact I can't control who is "following me" like I can on Facebook and Linked In.

The book is well written easy to follow and got me up to speed. I recently taught a job search class at my church and people were amazed to learn that there are a LOT of jobs posted on Twitter - as well as ways to get attention in this crowded job market.

The rules have changed and this book does a very good job a spelling them out. It is concise, not expensive, up to date, and well worth the money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource for the Job-Hunter!, April 16 2010
By Jane Rubinsky "writer and editor" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Twitter Job Search Guide: Find a Job and Advance Your Career in Just 15 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
Whether you're entirely new to Twitter or have been exploring it for awhile, this is the book to get if you're job-hunting (or looking to establish and/or expand your business).

Even if you've been fearful of jumping in, you'll soon "get" what Twitter is all about and be able to cut through the clutter to find what you want and make Twitter work for you. If you're an experienced user, you can skip the basics and go straight to the chapters that will help you develop a stand-out presence on Twitter and make the most of opportunities to connect with recruiters and employers.

There's lots of practical advice here, with specific examples of that advice being put into practice. Chapters by leaders in the field, including career coaches and personal branding experts, are like getting a personal consultation. You'll rethink your job search or marketing campaign after reading this book.
