This camp spectacle stars Sherilyn Fenn (Boxing Helena) as an upper-crust Southern belle who abandons the posh life for sex on the road with a carny worker. Naturally, the older folk (Burl Ives, Louise Fletcher) take exception. Typically silly, soft-porn stuff from director Zalman King (Wild Orchid), this erotic joke of a movie is good for putting one's busy brain on hold for awhile. Colorful support from Kristy McNichol as a cowgirl, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and the late Hervé Villechaiz (Fantasy Island). --Tom Keogh

Product Description

April Delongpre (Sherilyn Fenn) is the well-born daughter of a powerful Alabama senator and heiress to an old and respectable Southern family. One summer, while her fiancé Chad Douglas Fairchild (Martin Hewitt) is away on business, April commences an affair with Perry (Richard Tyson), a carnival roustabout she had met a few days previously. April's grandmother Belle Delongpre (Louise Fletcher) has assigned the local sheriff Earl Hawkins (Burl Ives) to keep an eye on her. Belle and the sheriff conspire to get rid of Perry on the day of April and Chad's wedding. Perry escapes, and the film ends with April, wearing Chad's wedding band and nothing else (in a shower), appearing in Perry's shower in a new location, ready for his return from work; they kiss.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very mixed reactions June 18 2011
By Omnes TOP 500 REVIEWER

Before purchasing Two Moon Junction, I knew that this movie was popular for its erotic sex scenes between Sherilyn Fenn and her co-star Richard Tyson. But the reason I bought this movie was because of the excellent soundtrack I had glimpsed on the internet, along with a few scenes that impressed me in their directing, editing, and tension like at the Carnival and in the DeLongpre's house when Sherilyn's character (April De Longpre) catches Perry in her shower. All these scenes made me consider this movie as something interesting enough to buy and watch.

To me, I felt the first part was the best, mostly for its cinematography and its lighting. Especially when there is a juxtaposition of Sherilyn diving in the pool while the carnival is being installed by Perry and the rest of the crew. Along with an excellent scene while we hear the song Who do you love and an excellent scene between April and her grandmother Belle, the first part of the movie really impressed me. Even Kristy McNicols's character was perfect in her funny role and I felt she should have had more presence in the film. So to me, that first part of the movie works well.

But for the second part, starting when the characters leave the carnival after a big accident, I felt the story turned more into an excuse to show some arousing scenes between Fenn and Tyson and exploit the actress's nudity. Sure the big argument between her and Perry was very funny, but when I watched her sex scenes, I still had the feeling that Sherilyn Fenn wasn't comfortable doing them for she was always crying at the end of those scenes. And to me I think that situation really hurt the film. Not only that, some of them were just over-the-top, like the one in the restaurant which to me didn't work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chick Flick Indeed June 15 2004
By A Customer
Format:DVD
OK. So it's either a masterpiece or cheesy soft porn. This is still one of the best chick flicks to see after a break-up. I own it now and watched it for the first time while in a long-term relationship. It still works. The cinematography is beautiful, the costumes are white and the story is timeless. What woman wouldn't want to cross over to the dark side if she can encounter someone like Richard Tyson? Yum! Besides, men can appreciate Sherilyn Fenn and women can see the full monty, although not Tyson's. Order a pizza, pour a diet Coke or Pepsi, invite your female friends and just enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars hardly worth it March 10 2004

Format:DVD
I picked this film up after seeing Fenn in Kiss of the Beast. The love-making and overall acting of this one are both very weak! It's basically a cheesy romance novel with no heat. They need to make Kiss of the Beast into a DVD version. That film is much better!

4.0 out of 5 stars about the movie two moon junction....... Feb. 3 2004
Format:DVD
This movie is basically about the actress whom at first gouing to marry someone but got 'intimated' with another man whom work in the fun park(something like knots Berry farm) and then he switched job top become a dish washer after he went to the actress home to bathe without her consent to enter the house. The story ends with him almost killed by 'rangers' during the time when the actress is about the get married(excution plan ordered by the actress family members). The last part shows that she in the end went to the actor's place to bathe and this concludes the story. There are two sex scenes in this movie as I've seen the Malaysian bootleg version DVD9(as good as code 1's clarity) after my friend brought back from there. For those whom are interested in this genre of movie by Zalman King....recommended purchase......

1.0 out of 5 stars EROTIC?! MORE LIKE IDIOTIC... Jan. 22 2004
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I rented this movie thinking it would be worth the $1.99 rental but unfortunately it wasn't... Tyson looked bored or like he could care less through out the movie and Fenn over acted big time on the love sequences... I have seen her in better movies with more clothing on and much better acting... I HATED HER BLONDE HAIR!!! It didn't look good on her and it just looked unnatural in that horrid shade... She is gorgeous as a brunette but, as usual, Hollywood only believes blondes can be sexy and tempting?!?!?!?!? And what was up with the crying all the time? I didn't get it??? This movie did nothing for me and I just cringed at how unnatural the love scenes were... Fletcher and McNichol must of been hard up for work to be in this trash... Campy?! The dialogue was stupid as well as the plot and I didn't care enough whether or not they got together by the end of the movie or not!! Just roll the credits and end this viewing nightmare... Don't be swayed by the other reviewers... It ain't as good as you think... It is one of those movies you want to see since you hear so much stuff about it but believe me it is over hyped...

4.0 out of 5 stars THE EXCITMENT OF TWO MOON Dec 28 2003
Format:DVD
Two Moon Junction is a favourite of mine. When I first saw it I thought that it was good, but since owning it on DVD it's grown a whole lot more on me. I first hired it because I'm a big fan of Milla Jovovich and love Sherilyn Fenn, and Martin Hewitt (from 'Endless Love'). Boy was I in for a treat. From the moment April meets Perrey I was even more intrigued. I love the use of music that Zalman puts in at certain moments in scenes, Wild Orchid is a perfect example. Zalman King is a master of all things erotic and sexy. Fine performances from the lovely Sherilyn Fenn, the sexy Richard Tyson and Martin Hewitt. Plus you always know a film's not that bad when lines get stuck in your head like ''April darlin'.
