5.0 out of 5 stars Duty or Love?, May 17 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tykotas Woman (Mass Market Paperback)
Tykota, son of the chief of the Perdenales Indians, was forced to leave his homeland as a boy when several attempts to kill him failed. Raised in England, the thought of one day returning to his people is paramount. He is on his way back, after his father's death, when another attempt is made on his life. Fate brings the beautiful Makinna into his life and forces him to choose between his duty and the woman he loves.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I AM A TEXAN, AND I SAY KUDOS TO YOU, CONSTANCE O'BANYON, YOU KNOW HOW TO WRITE ABOUT MY STATE. TYKOTA IS A PERFECT HERO, STRONG, YET SENSITIVE. I REALLY FELT THAT THESE CHARACTERS CAME TO LIFE. WILL THERE BE A SEQUEL?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book., Sep 2 2006

I really enjoyed this book. It was hot and sexy and the characters were interesting and likeable. Tykota was an honorable guy that was torn between the woman he loves and his duty to his people. the Heroine (Makinna) Falls for Tykota after he rescues her from an indain attack. She is strong and likeable character that you can't help but care about. I recommend this book to anyone that likes indain romances or anyone that just wants a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Native American romance with less violence, Mar 21 2011
By Confused at Work - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tykotas Woman (Mass Market Paperback)
After reading Catherine Anderson's Comanche stories, this story felt like a breath of fresh air to me. The violence was tame, not gory. I know it's not realistic but I'd rather not have graphic details of the the murders, etc. It's fiction, it's fantasy & to escape the harshness of reality, this is just the way I like it. I love reading about the hero's point-of-view and the writer describes his feeling really well. I'm all for an alpha male on the outside but emotionally sweet in the inside.

**POSSIBLE SPOILER** What I liked about this story is that the hero and heroine fell in love over a longer period of time, rather than the unrealistic usual few days. I could feel the love from both hero and heroine as they were willing to give up each other feeling it would be best for their future. Also, the hero did not give up his position because he felt it was the right thing to do for his people & not for the love of a white woman; the possibility of getting the white girl was a result but not the main reason. At least that's the way I see it.

This is the first book by Constance O'Banyon that I've read & I can't wait to read her other NA books.
