Product Description

Album Description

On his 2008 international debut album, U-Catastrophe,by Simon Collins, the son of U.K. superstar Phil Collins. The album is a conglomeration of sound, melding digital effects and transient random noise bursts with huge guitar hooks. The widescreen sonic approach amplifies the power of more tender moments such as 'Us (love transcends)' and 'Unconditional', songs written as heartfelt and raw expressions of love and gratitude to friends and family members that supported Collins through what he freely admits have been some significant 'peaks and troughs.' In 2007, Collins signed with Razor & Tie and set to work on what would be his first US release. He teamed with producer/engineer Kevin Churko in his Las Vegas studio in May 2007 and the two established a near-instantaneous rapport.

Awesome album! I'm so glad I gave this one a chance and would really encourage anyone to do likewise. I bought it for "Unconditional" but was totally blown away from the first track forward and I can honestly say that I would have a very hard time to picking a favorite track. Each is unique with its own arguement as to why it deserves to get your attention. Very powerful stuff from a fellow who seems to have a lot to say! I just GOTTA see this guy live!

I have listened to this CD many times and find as much as Simon Collins sounds like his father Phil Collins he has his own distinct sound. It is indeed a good "listen" and would suggest this CD to other people.
