I particularly like that i can easily find the ranking of a number of U.S> schools as well as the comparative sizes, majors offered and so on all in one handy guide. I use it all of the time in advising high school athletes checking out U.S. schools.

still searching for a school Dec 13 2011

I was hoping for more detailed information about the schools to help us whittle down the list. While there is a lot of good information, I didn't really find it useful.
US News Best Colleges 2012 June 5 2013

Well organized and very helpful. Tables made comparisons easier, but the tables are still pretty lengthy and complicated. Rather pricey, but they have the reputation so I guess they don't have to offer great deals on their publications.
not that factual on stats Feb. 17 2013
By Crusader - Published on Amazon.com

I was very alarmed that the stats shown for some colleges that I checked more in-depth do not reflect accuracy:e.g., undergraduate enrollment and tuition. Seems that whoever is performing updates is not doing their job .
I know for a fact that the university my son is attending has a much larger enrollment figure than stated in this book...can't blame the university ..the author is responsible and accountable for this information.
Handy resource Dec 19 2012
By Karin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a handy resource if you like to sit down and look at colleges in a particular state without having to do a lot of googling for each college. Plus it contains the entire reviews, not just portions, and some other info. Cheap paper, but the book isn't intended to last as rankings change, and the book is also inexpensive for the number of pages in it.
The Annual Gospel for Parents and their Wannabes Sept. 28 2012
By Sondra Feig - Published on Amazon.com

As a college counselor who enjoys advocating for authentic learners, I only make sure to read this so that parents understand the value of the rankings. Frankly, I wish the institutions would not return the required forms that enable this yearly event. Numbers really can't assure the statures of either Harvard or Williams. Just as happy and well-educated those seniors who wind up at Stanford, Bowdoin, Smith, Chicago, et al.Just as satisfied to find oneself living in Ann Arbor or Chapel Hill.
