This review is from: PowerUP Heroes - Kinect Required (Video Game)
I'm 40 years old and I'm not a gamer (like, not at all...) !!!In fact, I don't like video games because it usually means, a lot of time sitting in front of the TV and too many buttons to push at the same time (or in sequence), for a lot of frustration in the end when I'm beaten because of my lack of dexterity (I know...)... Powerup Heroes is a revolution to me (and others I guess), since I'm having so much fun (and exercise) while playing a video game with NO GAME CONTROLER in my hands and almost NO PRACTICE TO LEARN THE MOVES in order to control my avatar.... The graphics are great, the game is fluid and reactive, the moves are cool, but easy to remember and reproduce. I can even bet that I will soon be ready to try playing online with live gamers that I might have a chance to beat for once, hahaha... Did I mention there was no need for a game controller ??? It's really AWESOOOOOOME !!! Just remember to WARM-UP before playing, it's a really physical game : ENJOY !!!

I gotta say... i've always wanted to be a super hero and instead of dawning tights and just shy of one of those weirdos running around pretending to be super heroes in reality, this is a real as it gets. The game is overall fun, I broke a sweat, and I forgot I was exercising.I also like that my avatar is the one doing all the fighting.. really drew me in. My two favs are kinect sports (which will soon be replaced by kinect sports 2) and Power up heros. Man, I thought I was done with video games.. and I keep getting drawn back in. Now the tough part is convincing my wife to play it and not accidently kicking my one year old while playing. 17 of 19 people found the following review helpful

This review is from: PowerUP Heroes - Kinect Required (Video Game)
I have been waiting for this game since I first played Super Mario Bros in the 80s. Really fun, responsive and gives you quite the workout without being a fitness game. I have most Kinect games, and this is easily my favorite. Very promising for the 'next gen' of Kinect titles. It's a little limited vis-a-vis length and variety of play (this is a standard fighter), but if you've ever wanted to shoot lasers from your hands, summon zombies upon request, or otherwise be a superhero, buy this game!

This is the best Kinect title I have ever played. I'll admit I have only played a few others; The Gunstringer, Your Shape Fitness Evolved and Kinect Adventures. The responsiveness is great in this game. Some reviews say it is terrible, but that is blatantly false and there are videos on YouTube to disprove their claims. Just so you know how I feel; don't trust a media outlets review of a Kinect game, instead watch a real player playing it. I would love to have given this game 5 stars but I can't. The campaign is awfully short. Another reason is the negative views it is getting from media outlests. Those negative reviews are going to make the online play sparse. I have been in a few online matches already and though I lost it was a lot of fun. It is amazing to think that someone else is jumping around to play the game too. Everything else about this game is fantastic. If you own a Kinect this title should at least be rented, in my opinion. Use it to determine if you can even have a quality Kinect setup. If you cannot get this game to run properly then you should consider selling your Kinect because you will probably never enjoy a Kinect title. SpazHinata and TheOmnigamer on YouTube have excellent videos on this game. |
