5.0 out of 5 stars An idea so good... Nov. 27 2013

...I can't believe I didn't think of it! You can keep the little plastic clickety-click toy guitars. If you really want to play music, this is the tool. Sure, it's a 'game', you can earn points and unlock achievements or you can learn techniques, styles and songs till your fingers blister and your neighbors are begging you to take a break. Learn classics, new rock, grunge and with DLC and a thriving online community… I reckon I’ll be spending a lot of time Rocksmith-ing

First heard about this software from a YouTube guitar teacher… Marty Schwartz, (Hi Marty!) And while I agree that Rocksmith cannot take the place of a competent teacher, either online or in the flesh, who can explain the theory and techniques in detail, but for sheer absorbing and effective practice... Well, I really wish Rocksmith, or something like it was around all those years ago when I first picked up my first six-string.

I would definitely recommend this to any friends interested in guitar and in fact, I have! Finger blisters for everyone! We’ve even jammed with the multi-player mode… good times! The only thing I would suggest is, I purchased the older version thinking I was being frugal. I will definitely be getting the 2014 version as I hear it has even greater teaching capability. Then again, all that means is I’ll have twice as much Rocksmith-ing to rock to!

The way the partitions are written is confusing, especially if you already know some music. They should have given the option of a representation like tablature and traditional sheet music. Otherwise, the game is great at teaching you guitar. Highly recommended.

Looking forward to a game with drums, a real guitar, and a real keyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocksmith is Awesome; PC Tweakable Feb. 13 2013

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is so awesome on my daughter's PC(Intel Core2Duo@3.6GHz, Nvidia GTX460). I purchased 2 cables; I have been playing bass with her in coop mode - she is twelve, and kicking my a** :) The game is teaching me bass again.

I would normally give the game 4 stars, due to being a guitar game, but gave five stars to help combat the garbage reviews posted against the PC version of Rocksmith

I ordered and installed that game directly through Valve's STEAM service. I was hesitant about STEAM eight years ago when the service started, but now I purchase 98% of my games through STEAM (four family members, four accounts, LAN goodness!). I have re-purchased games during a STEAM sale that I own on disk so that I no longer have to open a DVD tray to play the game (talk about lazy). STEAM is the best thing ever for the gaming community.

With Regards to Rocksmith, I was able to configure the lag/delay settings through rocksmith.ini to produce less than 40ms. There are many easy-to-follow howto's for configuring this game; one good howto is on STEAM forums. The PC versions ofthe game are so configurable it isn't funny. Thanks, UBI; this was a step in the right direction

This game ROCKS on PC!!!

Got the game sooner then expected. The shipper even shipped it on Saturday.

Worked perfectly out of the box, and key activated on Steam without issue. The dvd and cable are included.
Got the game and the cable cheaper then the price of the cable alone!

There is a known issue with sound latency, which took about 15 seconds to figure out in the options menu.
