This package took much less time than anticipated to arrive. It is in perfect condition. It comes with all the necessary parts to attach it to a barrel 13-20mm in diameter including several length of screw and the allan key required to fasten them. It fastens to an appropriate sized barrel perfectly and holds tight under prolonged use.It is too short to attach a vertical fore-grip but suits many lights and lasers. Unfortunately the flaw with this product is the adjustment of the laser clamping feature. Specifically, I am disappointed with how difficult it is to remove the screws because the rail edges extend laterally over the screw head which means that the four screws have to be partially loosened sequentially and progressively. The name of this product was confusing but that is my fault and I suppose I should have read more carefully the description but I did not realize there would be a restriction on the diameter of barrel that it would fit.

Works OK. You have to be careful that you tighten the mount so it is straight and not lop-sided. make sure to tighten all screws the same amount.

I bought this barrel mount to affix a bipod to my AK-47 and it woks perfectly. Got a nice solid platform for target shooting now. I bought the smaller Tri-Rail mount as the bipod was the only thing I was going to put on. It's small but defenitely produces some weight at the end of the barrel. I almost bought the larger one and am glad I didn't. Comes with a ton of different screws for various weapon configurations, but out of the box worked with current screws installed. I have yet to take it to the range though since installation, but the plan is to get the barrel of the AK good and hot and then tighten the screws fully. They're not going anywhere now, but I assume they might loosen after 20 or 30 rounds of rapid fire. For those that might want to put other things on such as lasers or flashlights, there still would be room on this rail to accomplish that, and you wouldn't have to swap your current furniture out for rail-mount furniture.

I used my Tri-Rail Mounts to fashion a homemade barrel strut for a Mini-14. It may not be as pretty as the real thing but,it should work quite well. 12 of 15 people found the following review helpful

I purchased this item to allow use of a bipod on my WASR 10/63. The mount is well-designed and built. The finish is very nice and, when mounted, the rail is rock-steady. The design allows for storing the cleaning rod on my weapon. For other applications, the package comes with an assortment of different length mounting screws and also included the hex wrench.Edit: I purchased a second unit for another rifle and received an obvious previously returned item. The item was stuffed into the box incorrectly, was missing two of the screws that should be included, and the mount itself was scratched up on one side. I'm not returning the item since it is still usable for my application. I am dissapointed with Amazon for sending used merchandise out like this and have reduced my review from five stars down to two. I am seeing more and more reviews like this and feel that Amazon is hurting it's reputation far more than the gains made by sending returned merchandise back out to new buyers. |
