I wanted to have the option of mounting a red dot sight on my Mossberg 590 and this rail fit the bill perfectly. Lined up perfectly with the two screw holes on top of my shotgun and mounted very sturdly. Have fired about 100 shells through the shotgun and this mount hasnt loosened and I didnt even use any locktite.Another benefit of this rail, is when I took the red dot off and looked down the barrel this rail sort of make a rear sight for you and you can look down the rail at your front sight.

Works perfectly for mounting my red dot to my Mossberg 500. In fact a few family members liked my setup so much I purchased 4 of these in total to mimic what I have on their shotguns.
