When I first read the first Sophie Green book, I thought Kate Johnson might be a new potential auto-buy author for me. Well, she has definitely clinched that position with this book! Sophie and Luke continue their hilarious adventures and Docherty? Is HOT. I won't spoil the story by giving away plot points here, but suffice it to say that the high bar Johnson set in I, Spy? has been raised still higher. If you have a sense of humor and the ability to read, you need to read this series!

3.5 stars, rounded up.The second installment of the Sophie Green series (after I Spy) does not disappoint. Again, we encounter the blundering, endearing Sophie Green as she attempts to help her best friend who is wrapped in a mystery from the past. I thought it was a bit contrived how Harvey was introduced again - is always just going to pop up? Similarly to I Spy, Ugley Business is extremely fast paced, exciting and entertaining. I was about half way through when I went ahead and ordered books 3 and 4. Just like the first book, Ugley Business is a cute beach read, not an insightful look at... anything. It's just a fun book.
You can read this as a stand alone book even though it's part of a series. It does involve the same characters and some of the storyline continues from book to book.

I got the first Sophie Green book for free on Kindle. LOVED IT. Immediately upon finishing it, I bought the following 3 books in the series. The books are hilarious and a lot of fun, can't go wrong if you just want an entertaining, light read. Highly recommend! I hope Kate Johnson continues this series.
