About the Author
The background of my novel was initiated through the mentoring of my grandfather, David McRoberts, a "giant of a man" who believed in Scottish honor, pride, the Scottish Clans, and above all, accomplishing one's goals. He died when I was only 12 and I continued to pursue my Scottish heritage under my clan of Donnachaidh, which I am a member in the Texas chapter.
My combat experience in the First Cavalry-Vietnam, lent me the experience I needed for some of the intense battle strategies and other related scenarios.
I was also able to successfully utilize all the animals in my novel, giving them "almost" human emotions. For example, Yellow Rose, the "Bigger than life" mother cat will captivate readers, as does Alanna, that great monster, who underneath it all is really a good-natured creature.
The romantic scenes with the "Knight in Shining Armor" facade of Wolverine lends the novel an element that captures the hearts of both males and females.
I am a marathon runner used to discipline, having completed 18 straight Houston marathons (1984-2001) totaling 41 completed marathons, including Boston and the Marine Corps. Much of this philosophy is employed in the novel, yet keeping it light enough for enjoyable reading.
The Ultimate Dragon really is the "ultimate" fantasy, appealing to ages 12 to 112 and a first in a series. Coming out soon will be Loch Ness Monsters in Atlantis?
