3.0 out of 5 stars OK... but disappointing July 16 2013
By Calvin
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
this is an ok product. Very rudimentary... I was expecting more from an "Ultimate Guitar Chord Chart"... very basic... VERY VERY Basic!!!!

It's ok for a beginner, but I wouldn't recommend it really. Look elsewhere... Sorry Hal Leonard Corp... I'm usually happy with your products, but not this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great beginner chord book Dec 6 2007
By D. Reynolds - Published on Amazon.com
I came across this book by accident at a local book store. I've seen many different guitar chord charts (and posters) both online and in print - but I bought this one because...

1 - I'm a beginner for the most part (I play rhythm guitar/chords mostly out of easy guitar or fake books, and I can transpose some of the music on the fly so that I can sing with it)
2 - The fingerings in this book are all for the first 4-5 frets (I'm not good at barre chords yet)
3 - It is thin enough to fit underneath my guitar in my case
4 - It was only $3 (retail)

I've only used it a little bit and I'm very pleased with it.

Please be advised - this is a BOOK and not a poster chart. It has all the keys (A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab) and traditional chords: major, minor, 7th, sus, major 7th, diminished 7th, (and a couple others I'll add later).

If you are playing easy guitar - then this is a good reference. I like it better than the Incredible Chord Finder (also by Hal Leonard) because the printing is black on white (no grey), the book lies flat when open, and the other reasons I mentioned above (no barre chords ... no really advanced fancy chords).

This book won't appeal to everyone, but I'm very pleased with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reference chart Feb. 1 2010
By J. Weber - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a simple reference chart for the most common (~300) chords. I would recommend anyone learning guitar to buy it. Much easier than the wacky websites that do not always have the correct chords (I realize there are multiples for many chords)

An excellent feature is the suggested finger placements that really is useful for transitions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quick Reference Nov. 20 2010
By Gene - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This chord chart book is an excellent display of each chord in one view from major to ninth. I am helping a co-worker learn to play guitar, and this is one of the most useful references for her. Can't beat the price either for such a handy collection. Excellent offer, Amazon.

I purchased this chart for my son who is learning to play his acoustic guitar. It has given him many more chords to practice and he uses it a lot. He says it's very useful and is very happy I got it for him.
