All the best from the PSB, Dec 30 2010

I bought this just to be able to have the dvd really. Love all the music of course, but I've already got all of it on other discs (except the one new song). Love the concert on the dvd - just a whole lot of fun. I would however say that this really only appeals to die hard fans as there isn't much new material. (Only 1 song).

Ultimately, an excellent "Best Of", Jan 13 2011

The dramatically titled "Ultimate" does live up to its name and succeeds very well in encapsulating the PSB's "hits (and misses)" over the past 25 years or so.
One of the hardest things to get right in a "Best of" to to create an exciting and engaging audio journey for the listener rather than simply have hit after hit which may not mesh too well.
Ultimate is a real pleasure to simply put on, say in the car (recently driving from Sydney to Melbourne, 900km it ran through 3 times with me happily singing along before I switched to Depeche Mode) or while Im preparing dinner with a glass of South Australian Shiraz or Rose. The point being that the selection of tracks works really well as an audio-collection and as a representation of commercial and artistic success.
The collection of 19 tracks is skewed towards PSB's first three albums with 2-3 tracks from each. The PSB's last 4 albums only score 1 track from each. Oh well, they are hardly going to include "Numb" over "Heart".
Of course everyone will grumble about why such and such a track wasn't included and why such and such was included - (Mine: "Before" over "Bilingual"?).
But hey, 3 generations of my family love "West End Girls", "Always on my Mind", "Go West", "Miracles" and they are all obviously included.
The new track "Together" is a pleasing slice of euro-disco.
For Fans..the DVD contains a seemingly endless number of appearances of PSB on Top of the Pops and the Pandemonium Concert at Glastonbury.
Ultimately, this a superb "Best of" and that is all it aims to be.

A Must Have for Any PSB Fan, Mar 22 2011

This two disc set is a Must Have for any PSB fan. You probably already have all the content on Disc 1, but Disc 2 is chock full of lots of television appearances and a full length concert! One note: this disc is a DVD encoded for Europe (PAL). If you don't have one already, you'll want to order a region-free player (you can get some great ones right here on Amazon).
