This book has a great explanation and an image for just about anything you need in OB/Gyn sonography. I'm studying for my boards now and I am constantly referring to it. It's a book that I will use forever.

I am an obstetrician and do ultrasonography every day. Good reference book. As is the case with most medical reference books, it lists many obscure, rare problems, which one will most likely never see. (Like winning the lottery.) It also gives good reference to fetal cardiac and central nervous system problems. Doppler usage is also discussed under the appropriate topics. The photos are more than a little dated. Modern obstetrical reference books really should use modern photos. After all, what does someone like myself need a book like this, unless I see something that does not seem to be quite normal. I have seen a million "normals" and don't need it for that, although I can see that normals would be useful to a lot of "newbys". Data doesn't change much usually but the equipment does. Tables are good references but again data is old. My ultrasound has all of the tables that I generally use, plus percentiles, built right into the machine. This is the case with all newer machines.
TOC is good. Index is reasonably good. Safety issues are discussed. "Normals" are covered very well. It needs more 3-D items. This is the way of the future.
Modern ultrasound equipment is generally capable of great photos. These should be updated. Came on time. Sure, I would recommend it to someone else. However, I wish someone would write a up-to-date reference book and use modern data. There must be modern data out there somewhere.

First, I would like to note that the book was a little bit damaged when it arrived. I decided not to return it because it was in acceptable shape and I did not want to waste time in the process. But amazon should put more attention to the way they pack books.
The book itself is great. It is very well written and the pictures are of excellent quality, plus lots of great drawings and tables. Do not look elsewhere, this is it.
