Although this dispenser looks decent on the counter, my large disappointment is how soapy water stays on the bottom of the holding cup, as there is no drain hole at the base. Other than that, it has decent soap holding capacity, and the pump seems to work fine.

It holds a lot of soap, very impressed. Solid construction and the scrubby that comes with it works really well too.

This product is good quality and holds a whole large bottle of soap, very big for the counter in my opinion.

the pump is NOT stainless steel March 18 2009

Here we go again ..... another case of product information that is far off base - an outright lie.

I bought this soap pump exclusively for the fact that the description says "Made with stainless steel rust-free pump". The pump is 100% PLASTIC!!! It's going back to Amazon in a flash.

You can avoid this deception because of my experience. And now I must continue my search for a decent quality soap pump, if one exists.

I rated this as 3 stars then subtracted one star for the lie. By the way, this thing is huge and won't fit on your back sink edge next to the sprayer - unless your sink has no rimmed edge.

JUNK March 12 2012

The pump is chromed plastic, and it leaks all down the sides and back. What a mess. And too big to fit on the back of your kitchen sink, so you get dishwashing soap all over your counter. JUNK!

Most convenient dispenser I've found so far March 24 2010
By Horsegal JPJ - Published on
I'm on my second Joey after the first [yes, plastic] pump deteriorated, but that was after 3 and 1/2 years. That's not an especially laudable longevity, but I otherwise like the Joey so much that I got another one anyway. (The whole Joey: ridiculously, there's no Umbra replacement pump part. A substitution, however, could probably have been found.) Yes it's rather big - the base is 4" front-to-back and 3" side-to-side - but I could not find another dispenser that also holds the sponge, a convenience I now require. It does fit on the corner of the lip of my sink just fine. The pocket is only 1+3/4" deep (top-to-bottom) so regarding 'Grandma's' claim, I can't imagine how anyone could store a toothbrush and toothpaste and timer and floss in there: absolutely no way, as they would just fall over and out (except for the floss). But it holds one sponge or Dobie reasonably well. Don't expect any more than that. The dispenser holds a lot of soap/detergent, so you rarely have to refill it. I bought mine in white, through Amazon.

Looks nice but needs a better pump Aug. 4 2012

Love the red soap pump. The pump itself looks awesome and it's red finish is glossy and smooth. My only complaint is the pump. Like previous reviews I'm waiting for this pump to fail. It's been going strong for the month that i've owned it but every pump feels like it will be it's last. The pump is plastic and doesn't sit straight in the ceramic body.I just noticed a leak where the pump screws down to the dispenser. Not a major leak more like a trickle down the side like a melted candle. I just have to wipe it down every couple of days. An o-ring might fix the issue. A better pump and I'd probably rate it a 5.

Very handy item June 6 2010

It's both larger and smaller than you would think. If you look at the measurements, you might not think it would fit in the corner of a kitchen sink, but it does. On the other hand, it is visually huge, which doesn't necessarily come across in the pic. It holds a monstrous amount of soap.

Seems to be well made and the sponge caddy is handy.

Edited to add that a tall sponge tends to fall out the back, but you can lean it against the soap-holding part.
