As a holistic nutritionist I’m always on the lookout for new alternative health and wellness books and I have to admit I was incredibly excited for the release of Meghan Telpner’s Undiet: Eat Your Way to Vibrant Health.
This book is a game changer. It’s completely inspiring, totally authentic, the writing sings, and the research is solid. Most importantly, however, Meghan encourages her readers to take responsibility for their own state of health by reconnecting with the foods they put inside their bodies and listening to how those food choices make them feel. This book educates and empowers by demonstrating just how easy and attainable healthy living truly is if you take small steps every day towards your overall goals. Meghan’s plan goes far beyond diet and segues naturally into a connection of mind, body, and soul to create a picture of joyful living that anyone would want to manifest. Undiet is a necessity for anyone frustrated by conventional health and nutrition and looking to take action to create a better body and life. It will have a place of honour on my bookshelf and will be the book I recommend to clients when they ask me where to start on their journey. As she says, we can either build health or disease, and with this book as a guide you will joyfully choose to build health every day for the rest of your abundant and beautiful days.
Some specifics about the book I thoroughly enjoyed were:
1. The inclusion of a sort of "cheat sheet" at the end of every chapter that summed up the key ideas and actions that had been covered.
2. Each chapter ended with delicious recipes that corresponded once again to the topic of said chapter.
3. The photography is beautiful and includes many authentic day-to-day shots of Meghan and her friends and family living joyfully.

Well, I guess that a book with the word “diet” in the title sells by itself but, WARNING, the book is not about dieting. It’s about a building a better life for you and the people around you! Un-diet here is like un-learning: get rid of bad old habits and fill in with new challenging but rewarding ones. It’s meant to inspire, through wise words coming from experience and expertise, and guide you one step (or as many as you can handle) at a time to incorporate and re-learn new routines to build a better health from the inside out. And it’s not all about food, so don’t expect food recipes galore in the book. For that, internet is actually an amazing resource! However you’ll find recipes here, not just for yummy meals and snacks, but recipes to create an enhanced and happier you!

I’ve loved every piece of it: the topics Meghan covers, the suggestions, the way it’s written, the colours used… It truly transmits positive energy!

Whether you've tried everything else, or you're looking to try something to bring well-being into your life - this book is it. The Undiet philosophy is something I was slowly coming to realize through my own experiences, various resources and plain trial and error. This book presents everything in an undaunting and fun way.
Meghan's fun personality shines through - it's like a book written for you by your best girl friend. Along with anecdotes, the book is filled with information, tips and advice on how to put principles into action and make it easy.
There's also tons of recipes included through the book, along with a transitional plan on Undieting your life. Tons of inspiration. I like how it's not about nutrition, but also about the other aspects of your life. It's a lifestyle! There's tons of info on natural beauty, the environment, and goal setting.
I've completed the 3-day test drive and have tried and loved the recipes, and just how much easier it was to prep food ahead of time so I can make the best choices.
It's a comprehensive guide to un-do and question all that you've known to be "right". If you feel like there's still more that can be done to make life so much sweeter - here's your guide!

Meghan Telpner writes in a way that she makes you want to be a healthier person. She makes you want to take care of yourself and treat your body with love and kindness. Meghan's own story is inspirational and I was honored that she shared it in this book. She lets readers in with a enthusiasm that is contagious. I've been interested in my health for many years and it wasn't until I learned from Meghan how much was wrong with what I thought to be true. She makes changing your life easy by breaking it down into small, manageable steps. This book is an insight into how to live your life healthier without worrying about calories. Her recipes are tried and true (and delicious!) and will change even the heartiest of carnivores into a vegan-wannabe. Buy this book. It will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself.

Want to feel healthier? Don't want to drink green juice, give up eating meat, or gulp expensive uber-processed "nutrition" drinks? No problem. Meghan gives great ideas of how you can make the healthy choices that are easiest for you and your family. She'll show you how to read a nutrition label (and tell you what information to ignore), how to quickly and cheaply make staples like almond milk at home, and which of the things in your kitchen cupboards you might want to try as cosmetics. I know I'll be coming back to my copy again and again in the next few years.
